As someone who remembers lining up quarters on the original Donkey Kong arcade machine, I have really enjoyed playing this latest iteration in the Donkey Kong franchise. The visuals are nice on the eyes, and the levels are full of platforming secrets and challenges. It really does seem like you're playing the SNES Donkey Kong Country games in HD. Speaking of, David Wise, formerly of Rare, has returned to compose his fantastic brand of music in the series. The only gripes I have are sometimes having to fight with the controls, re: either running or rolling. I hate that they are on the same button. I've played with both the gamepad (OK) and the pro controller (recommended). If you have enjoyed any of the DK platformers in the last several years, check it out.

The graphics are awesome. The dancing trees are cool. The bosses have been pretty difficult too.

I've been a big fan of the Donkey Kong series since the beginning when Rare was making them and always enjoyed when they added a new Kong each itteration. Cranky Kong is an iconic part of the old games and being able to play as him is a good experience. I hope they eventually make another Donkey Kong platformer like they did with DK64, because they are doing a fantastic job with bringing the feel of the old games back with updated art and concepts. I highly recommend picking up Donkey Kong Country Returns and Tropical Freeze.

Levels can be difficult, but otherwise it's fun!!!

What a lovely game! The graphics are so fantastic. The challenging gameplay makes it worth the purchase and the remarkable soundtrack. The only complaint is that it does not use the gamepad in any clever ways.
