way to childish. DK games were not like this. I miss Rare

Great graphics and gameplay. Superb music! Welcome back David Wise! Extremely challenginging game! The game is so beautiful younger kids love it, but playing it is suprisingly challenging to them. Fun for all ages! You will die and die some more..but the music, gameplay, and graphics are so enchanting you'll keep playing till you earn your way through. Solid game!

I have been into the Donkey Kong games ever since my son (now 41) turned me on to the Arcade game in the early 1980's. Tropical freeze takes the series to another level. The WiiU gets a bad rap from the Gaming Industry for various different reasons. But the one thing Nintendo does offer is just plain FUN. Tropical Freeze is a prime example, its a must have!

I purchased this game for my three children at Christmas. They liked the game except it caused some arguing as to who would play due to it only having 2 players at a time. They really enjoyed the game. They made comments while playing like this is a lot like Donkey Kong Country Returns. I noticed the process of the game was very similar to Donkey Kong Country Returns except this game has different worlds. So its really the same game, but with new worlds.

Tropical Freeze is a solid sequel to DKC:Returns, and a great platformer game for the Wii U in general. Nice visuals, great soundtrack by David Weiss, and a decently challenging game overall. I recommend it for anyone who has nostalgia for the original SNES games, or just wants to play a fun side-scroller on the Wii U.

This is one of the most visually beautiful games on the Wii U. The colors are vibrant and rich, the music is catchy without being distracting, the level design is great and surprises you in every level, the gameplay is rock solid. Although it's a little on the difficult side, younger player might struggle at first with the controls, but once they get a hand on them, they are going to have a lot of fun with the game's genius level design, great visuals, and amazing soundtrack.

Got this when it was on sale last year; fantastic, fantastic platformer, with near perfect level design and a kicking soundtrack. If you are at all a fan of platformers, this is a must play.

Like any other Donkey Kong Country game, this is a great deal of fun to play. But if you, like me, are absolutely helpless in the face of any kind of challenge whatsoever, be advised that this game will haunt your nightmares. My thumbs hurt a lot.

The amount of detail in Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is impressive, Donkey Kong and crew's fur is dynamic and moves with the environments. The water effects are lush, with bubbles that form as DK and company swim. The colors pop, and look great on a high definition television. The challenge is more than fair, and it is fun trying to collect all the letters in each level to unlock secrets. The Music in DKTF is one of the best soundtracks I've heard in any video game from recent memory. The icing on the cake is that my lady friend likes it too, so be careful when playing because some may lose track of time. I purchased Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze after I saw it was critically acclaimed . I view games from a judgmental stand point since most games resemble each other, to me anyway, and that kinda defeats the purpose if your wanting to buy a next gen console. Needless, to say Nintendo and Retro have produced a solid gaming experience which is seen as a practice run for Retro who needed to familiarize itself with the Wii U hardware. In conclusion, I'm not a Nintendo fan boy, I just like really fun video games with great graphics and game mechanics. The Wii U is a great compliment to my PC, which is dedicated to play the latest titles on max settings. If you truly enjoy video games then get a Wii U, it reminds me of a Roku HD on steroids and hey, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is a great addition to any gamer's library. Highly recommend it.

It's a first party Nintendo game so of course it's great. However, this is one of the more challenging games and will make you work for it.

I liked this game however I found some of the levels quite frustrating to finish. Luckily lives are not difficult to come by. If you like difficult platformers this is one to get.

This game kept me sweating and trying and trying but really enjoyable to play.

I miss the old Donkey Kong on Super Nintendo so we bought this and love it.
