Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the fast-paced gameplay and portability as major strengths of DOOM on the Switch. While some mention challenges with frame rate and resolution, particularly in handheld mode, many praise the game's performance and consider it a solid port. The action and first-person shooter elements are also frequently highlighted as positive aspects.

    Port Feels Rushed...

It's cool to see a great, AAA, 3rd Party FPS get a portable version on Switch; but this port feels rushed, and suffers from some annoying bugs. I suppose my first complaint is subjective, as it has to do with graphic fidelity, but here it goes.. there is a fine line to walk when trading off graphics/frame-rate for portability, in my opinion, they failed here.... the reality is, Doom is a fast paced shooter, even in single player campaign, and while the 30 fps cap (and quite a few dips below) doesn't ruin the game on it's own, the reduced/scaling field of view, apparent motion blur (turning this off in settings doesn't seem to help) combined with the dark/low-lit nature of the game, makes it difficult to enjoy. My second complaint is more objective, with no room for argument... there are MAJOR audio glitches in this port. I've experienced frequent, random LOUD buzzing sounds throughout the few hours I've played; and at about a 3rd through the level "Argent Energy Tower" had the audio completely go out. I hope that they can at least fix these audio problems with a patch soon; and perhaps I will update my review at that time, but as of writing this, this port is not worth the buy... especially since better versions exist on other platforms, often on sale for a 3rd of the price or less (INB4 "but it's portable!" - yes, and so are many AAA games of the past on iOS/android, but I can't be bothered with most of those either because the overall/consistent experience isn't there).

Nonstop shoot em up action!! Has five difficulty modes three that you can start the game on originally. I play on easy and haven't died yet. I am about 6 hours into the single player. Comes with online multiplayer as well with a nintendo online subscription. Super fun and would highly recommend for any adult gamer that loves shooters.

This is great on Switch. No, it doesn't look as pretty as on current gen consoles, but the ability to have it mobile is HUGE and it still runs great.

With the latest update Bethesda forces you to download an 8 gig update to play the single player campaign. The update includes the multiplayer. it took me roughly 2 hours before I could play the game, that is unacceptable. During the marketing of the game Bethesda said the single player would be on the cartridge and the multiplayer was an optional download. Apparently that is not the case, Bethesda is forcing you to download the multiplayer to play the single player. This is draconian, they don't let you choose
