Boring and repetitive. Great graphics but the overall goal and repeat nature get old quickly. This is just not a fun game for me, stick to Fallout 4...

After being a huge fan of the original PC game back in the 90's I thought this was going to be a great remake. It wasn't for me... After playing it for 20 minutes I'd had enough. Waste of time....

No matter what the setting is, the game is too dark to play. Could hardly see anything. Maybe it's better in vr but I doubt it

    Must-Play 2016 First Person Shooter

I originally fell in love with the 2 recent Wolfenstein titles (The New Order; The Old Blood), so I pre-ordered on the premise that Bethesda would not disappoint with a similar adaptation....glad I did! I played both of the original PC titles years ago, so as someone who experienced the origin of DOOM as well as Wolfenstein, I really have to give it up to Bethesda, these are some of the best single player campaigns I have ever played. There's nostalgia to be had, the gameplay is fast paced, just a great kill-em-all type of game. The multiplayer has received a large amount of criticism from a lot of gamers that I think completely missed the point; the online plays like a PC arena game from the days of old as well, just with a modern touch. Honestly if you enjoyed Unreal Tournament or even Red Faction on PS2 online, then you'll probably enjoy the modern sweetness of DOOM's arena-shooter style. It's quick, it's brutal; it's exactly what I'd expect from DOOM multiplayer, maybe even a tad better because you get to turn into a demon and wreck everyone in the room. SNAP MAP is DOPE, there's new user map submissions all the time, playing with a friend is hilarious fun especially on maze-like or puzzle maps. All in all, you gotta buy it for the campaign, and even if the multiplayer isn't for you, SNAP MAP will keep you entertained for quite a while, especially if you dig building maps.

I saw the trailer for the game 6 months ago and pre-ordered it right then and there. Once I got it and put it in I was surprised at how fluid the gameplay was. Instant reaction to controls unlike the previous versions. I went through 2/3 of the game in normal but when you have to face off a boss it is insanely hard to stay at normal. I chose easy at second boss battle to get through it without taking half damage at a single hit. Overall be prepared for balls out dog fighting every time you enter a check point the further in the game you get. Stock up on ammo and use what gun works best for you as it is hard ot aim with monsters rushing you form different directions. It took me 3 days to beat the game. The last stage 2 boss fights were bs. Once you end the boss another fight begins at second to last boss fight. On the last fight you have to hit the spider in the brain or you cause no damage. It took roughly 10 rounds of getting my face handed to me to find this out. I did not spend a lot of time in multiplayer but it had the same dynamic as gears of war multiplayer. Over all worth getting.

Best Game I've Played In Years

DOOM is fantastic, and exactly what it sets out to be: a fun, challenging game that is very aware that it is, in fact, a game. The impressive graphics, incredibly fast pace, and constant action keep you engaged and immersed, and completely validate id's decision to essentially disregard story. Unlike any other recent shooter I can think of, DOOM focuses entirely on being a fun game with great mechanics, and is humorously self-aware at times. At no point does this game sacrifice timing, design, or adrenaline for story, and it works like magic-- the result is pure fun that will remind anyone who played the originals what was so exciting twenty-something years ago. It wasn't exciting because you felt like you were uncovering a deep and intricate story, or solving a mystery, it was exciting because you were playing a fast, hard, awesome game that wasn't pretending to be anything else. This game, I hope, will revive that aspect of the action genre, much as Half-Life introduced the story-driven aspect which has become so overblown that a return to form such as this is incredibly refreshing. Don't get me wrong, Half-Life was awesome, and intense stories can be wonderful. What I'm excited about, here, is that choice is awesome and wonderful, too, and sometimes you just want a brutal, crazy experience that doesn't mess around and definitely never stops to take a breath until it's over (and that has incredible replay value). Thank you, id, for a game that is unapologetic about what it is and is, in my opinion, an absolute contender for my favorite ever. Oh, P.S.: If you have ever played a game and thought 'this might be too gory for me,' then DOOM is probably not for you, and that's fine. It's easily the most graphic thing I've ever played, no exaggeration. If you're interested in a rich multiplayer experience and tend to skip right over single player entirely, well, you're not going to feel the same way as I do. My advice though, is: make an exception, give it a chance, relive an experience that will remind you how fun single-player can be (or find out for the first time). It's worth it.

Doom 2016 possesses all the great things a fps needs. Huge areas to explore, plentiful extras, bloody good violence, and a difficulty level that, while challenging, is rarely unfair. The more you play, the better you get! The visuals are foreboding and beautifully rendered. The action is nonstop. Pick this one up.
