I've played DOOM since the very first release and have loved it each time minus the last release. I was mildly disappointed with DOOM 3 as it felt more like a tech demo visual showcase on rails. I need the 'feeling' of freedom even when I don't actually have it in a linear game. DOOM 4 gives me that freedom, with large open spaces for battles the hordes of (BB censored this word?) army. You can explore to find all the secrets. The guns all have unique challenges to level them up. There are mini kill'em all games with rewards too. I absolutely love the amazing character designs. It's so 2099 and yet still looks faithful to the original in a perfect blend of compromise. The Cyberdemon is my favorite model of the year, hands down. Come out with a huge statue or toy and I'm buying it day one. Everything about this game feels fresh and yet stays true to the series. It's casual yet can be difficult too. It's a sleeper hit of the year and I think you should play it and be as surprised as I was. Now if you figure out how to beat the last boss, let me know, because I surely haven't been able to even after lowering the difficulty.

Been waiting for a Doom game that would gain my interest again. This is it! Awesome shooter. The graphics are great. The game control is great. I use to play the Original Doom and this one finally has brought my interest back to the Doom Series!

I just finished this game and I can honestly say that it has the best FPS story and gameplay I have ever played. It was beyond epic and so much fun. I recommend playing it on HARD difficulty to get the most out of this game.

I picked up this game without having played any of the other DOOM games, yet knowing more or less what I was getting into. The campaign was nice and lengthy (at least 12 hours), with enough challenge to keep me interested, yet not so challenging that I wanted to throw my controller against the wall. It was incredibly violent, fast paced, and set to metal music. And that was exactly what I was in the mood for. Though I will admit there is a little too much dependency put on the theatrical kills in order to get ammo/health, I didn't mind too much. The real fault of this game is the multiplayer. It was a poor attempt at Unreal Tournament's multiplayer. After about a dozen matches, I gave up and continued on the campaign. So if you're in the mood for a great multiplayer game, try Overwatch, Destiny, or something along those lines. But if you're in the mood for a single player, high octane, gory thrill ride, this is the game for you.

I was a fan of Doom back in the 90s and was worried this reboot couldn't possibly live up to my expectations. It nails it, though! It's extremely satisfying tearing through demons. The gameplay is fantastic.

I'll make this simple and short, get this game. One of the best FPS of 2016! The soundtrack, all the brutal killings, I love Doom, the very first one back on PC and I think this one tops it.

This game is great. Has awesome graphics, sound and gameplay. There's nothing revolutionary about the game, although the execution system is cool. This is a great game for newbies or for returning Doom players. Just don't expect a great story though.

doom is a reboot to the old run and gun fps that started a genre in the 90's and it is back with more blood, more action and fast pacer. This is the most metal game ever.

I was a fan of the original PC version of Doom. This is leaps and bounds better. The graphics are fantastic and I will get many hours of fantastic game play out of Doom.

Enjoyed the multiplayer that is fast paced with great map layouts. Campaign is a little short but its worth going through again and again. Super great soundtrack.

Great 1st person shooter. Single player was a blast fighting different waves of monsters. Bosses were fun to fight and a challenge too. Wasn't a short game either.

I will keep this short and simple. The campaign is fun and beautifully rendered. It runs roughly 13 hours on normal difficulty while collecting all collectables. Enough replay value for an ultra-nightmare difficulty run but not much else. Multiplayer is nowhere near as great as it should be. Slow paced for a Doom game and not enough active playera on any modes other than Team Death Match. All in all, its fun for roughly 20-30 hours and then it is redundant. Therefore, pick this up when the price drops.

DOOM is an amazing remake and lives up to its amazing past. The graphics are amazing, multiplayer is beast and there is custom level making so it never gets old.

This is a new imagining of the classic. The graphics are superb. Death match is a hoot. Kind of perturbed that it downloads over 5 gig after you put the DVD in.

So much fun and a pretty good challenge on the higher levels. A good variety of weapons and tough enemies make this a great reboot of the series as well.

It's pretty. It's got a good storyline beyond the original. The action is fast paced with creatures that are gruesome and evilly cool. There's the pluses. _______________________________ Here's the negatives: There's no let up. Because the pace is so full with more, more, more, the action actually gets boring due to adrenaline overload followed by adrenaline exhaustion. Eventually, you fail to care if you get hit or die because you're constantly getting hit and dying, therefore what's the point other than just survive to the next checkpoint. I seriously doubt I complete this title.

I have played all of the Doom games since the first one. I have always liked the game and this one lives up to the name. Also the multiplayer is good for a game that focuses on the story.

Finally a return to a classic FPS, anyone sick and tired of call of duty should check this out. This is how awesome shooters used to be.

Doom for the PlayStation 4 is an impressive reboot of the series since the 1990's. A new amazing game for the new generation. Must buy!

Doom is an awesome throwback to a time when games were just about challenging fun and nothing more. I love the old school feel and the high-resolution update on the classic characters. I was never a huge player of Doom when I was younger, but I played later versions and played the earlier versions again as an adult, and I can say with confidence that this is a faithful heir to the franchise. Run and gun action is enjoyable, and having so many difficulty levels gives a ton of replay value. Definitely worth the money.
