True Nightmare!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only bad thing about this game is that it is highly addictive and hard to put down. This game holds true to it's promise of being a straight shooter with a lot of gore. It puts you directly in the old Doom type of a storyline with awesome picturesque scenery that sets the right mood. The multiplayer is the likes of Quake and even better! Brings back memories of Quake 3 multiplayer maps and power-ups. Plus, there is an arsenal of multiplayer modes to choose from that will surely keep the entertainment going on.

Great singplayer, fun multiplayer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The single player of the game is just downright awesome. The guns, the enemies, and the gameplay all scream Doom. The story itself isn't that interesting, but it is very fun to play. Story is roughly 10 hours on normal, but there are a lot of weapon upgrades and secrets to collect. The multiplayer is a fun arena shooter, similar to quake or unreal torunament but a bit slower. You have a loadout system for two guns and a grenade, and the map has special weapon pickups as well. Its fun to play but does get a little boring after a while.

Great Installment in the Doom Series
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, why are you reading this? Go get the game....... Still here? I mean now! Okay if you're going to read this here it is. If you enjoyed Doom 3 more than the first two this game is for you. It it not as fast paced and crazy as the first two and follows more in the foot steps of Doom 3, which I prefer. Also, the game has optimized extremely well for PC and Ultra settings I'm getting 60 FPS with a GTX 970 and its only hitting 50 degrees celsius which is exceptional by the way. Just get it, stop reading this.

Loved The Campaign
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited to see this version of Doom being released. It brought many of the old weapons and enemy beings back from the original Doom. I have completed the single player campaign and I really enjoyed it. It was challenging and offered many side missions and hidden objects to locate. A game that makes you think is even more entertaining than just following the predetermined pathway! I haven't been able to play the multiplayer mode yet but I will probably replay the campaign mode since I enjoyed it that much! This is a must buy for classic Doom lovers and those new to the Doom franchise!

Old Made Anew Again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perhaps I'm beginning to sound a bit like a dinosaur, but I did actually have my taste of old-school first person shooters on PC. While I personally preferred Quake during the sudden growth of DOOM-clones, I'm glad to have gotten a taste of what happens when people want to make old anew again. This reboot is fast, gory, and unwaveringly fluid. It's how PC first person shooting is meant to be, and while its multiplayer finds some jarring imbalance, its map editor doesn't quite find prominence, and its textures are lacking, I not only recommend this purchase on PC but also to anyone who forgot or doesn't know what playing first person shooters used to be like. For reference, just imagine yourself sprinting at all times with infinite stamina and all of your guns have a "no reload" cheat active.

DOOOOOM 2016! Not just a remake, but something new
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Doom 2016 isn't just a reboot of a classic. It's not just your generic CoD or cinematic shooter. It's a fast paced, high action game with a lot of interesting exploration and side paths. It's almost Metroid-esque. Recommended? Yes!

AWSOME!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loved Doom III, its a nice change from the last doom. Like not having to reload is a nice touch. It is a change from the last DOOM, and I do not like how some of the story line is delivered. IF you could combine Doom III with this Doom, it would be AMAZING! Can't tell you much about the multiplayer part of the game, I don't do multi player games.

fast-paced, beautiful, and action-packed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The class DOOM gameplay, updated for a new generation. I haven't tried the multiplayer, since the single player is so, so good, and runs like a dream on my PC (4690k/970). Best single player since Wolfenstein: The New Order.

Best old-school shooter in years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As enjoyable as the classic Doom games while adding a few modern elements. Very exciting and gorgeous, and well optimized to boot. Sound design is terrific and the campaign is long enough to warrant the price. Multiplayer is forgettable for the most part but that can be overlooked.

Great Single Player, Mediocre Multiplayer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The single player was actually developed by id software, meanwhile the multiplayer portions were developed by a third party company. Keep this in mind and check for future updates / steam charts to see if the MP has improved or is even active. Otherwise worth the single player.

biggest surprise of 2016
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had no good expectations for this one. The multiplayer is forgettable but the campaign is a perfect evolution of the old school fps. pc version is amazing too and runs like a dream.

Its good but monotonous
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a regular halo 5 player, I did not get anything new in this game exceppt the cool demons. Its a good game and I recommend it too but it does not bring anything extraordinary to the table.

Might be a great game, but waiting to play it.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I live out in DSL land, and specifically bought a physical copy of the game so that I would only have to download the Day 1 Patch for the game. Except, the game doesn't install even a QUARTER of the required game data, leaving me to wait days to download the massive 43 gig game over a DSL connection, not happy.
