SKIP BEST BUY 3RD PARTY INSTALLATION

This unit was one of 3 (wall oven, dishwasher and cooktop) that I purchased with installation provided by Best Buy. All were botched. Wall oven has a 1/8" to 1/4" gap at the top. The installation instructions clearly state that some shimming may be required, including to close any gaps. The trim piece at the bottom is stressed (they used some sort of pneumatic pillow device during install and doors are misaligned. Also, during one of the return visits, the screws holding the oven to the wall were removed and not replaced. A new oven has been ordered by BB to address the door misalignment, but I have serious reservations about having their 3rd party installers work on the replacement oven. Measure Twice Cut Wrong

I'm pretty good at measuring an appliance before I buy, which is not what the installation team assumed. My existing Wall Oven Combo was about 1/2 inch smaller than the new unit. However, the install team decided to cut an additional 4 inches on my existing cabinet cutout. Unfortunately, I was not with them when they decided to make the new oven's cutout (stayed outside the kitchen due to social distancing). When I asked them why the additional cut out, given that I had already made the measurements, they quickly noticed they made a huge mistake. Luckily, they placed 2x4's on the bottom of the oven to sit, which only left a small gap for which I had to repair. I understand mistakes happen, but you would think these guys are professionals. All in all, they're only human but beware of who is being sent to conduct your appliance install. Due to their mistake, they didn't charge me for the cabinet cutout.

    Wallhanging Installation

Very below average, though it is a new home and room was made for wall hanging, there was some wood to be cut and cleared, but installation folks never took chance to clear it, rather just gave up after delivering. My Best Buy agent guided me with external help at some cost of $300.

Not only was the delivery service a problem but when the installer started the oven and the 100 degree came on and I heard a fan, I thought it worked. Not true. When I tried it it went to 100 and then gave me two different error messages and shut off. I could not get an appointment for at least a week. Waiting to see what happens.

The installers were nice and cordial, but the $199 installation did not include actually installing the oven in the wall. It was a quarter of an inch too big for the enclosure, and some sanding was needed. Nope! Doesn't include that. They spent less than one minute wiring the unit in, and left it on the ground near where it needs to be installed. I would never have paid $199 knowing that.

Scheduling was unreliable. Took three times over several weeks of scheduled dates to have them show up with a qualified crew to install the double oven. Because of BB mishandling of installation, I had no oven for several weeks, including over Christmas. Last crew did a good job (5 star). Averages to 2 stars given BB scheduling snafu's.

Good replacement oven, but some issues

Our Whirlpool gold double oven failed after about 10 years of heavy service (my wife is a wonderful chef). We decided to replace with latest version of the same double oven, so went to BB Pacific Sales, got great service there, had to order because the oven was not in stock. Took about two weeks, the oven was installed on a Monday. It works fine so far, fits great, looks nice. Two problems, very noisy and really heats up the kitchen - Whirlpool has obviously addressed a few design challenges with this appliance, but have overkilled in my opinion. The fan is very loud and whistles (very annoying) and on hot summer evenings, it really heats up the kitchen. My wife does like several of the new design changes including different door windows (easier to see) and slightly faster preheat, but the fan noise and thermal "share" this oven provides is just a little tough to live with. It cooks great, evenly, and we have no problem with the internal function, just don't like the external issues it causes. Any oven will heat your kitchen a little, this one seems to be more than before. Most likely due to the beefed up fan and cooling exhaust vents, but still....

Understand what Best Buy calls installation

My definition and the Best Buy definition of installation are quite different. The Kitchen Aid oven I bought was for a 27" cabinet. When Bust Buy pulled out the old oven they said that the new one wouldn't fit and they wouldn't install it. The oven did fit, they just wouldn't trim out the cabinet face or even deal with the electrical outlet (old unit had a plug, new unit had pig tales). I had the cabinet face trimmed and the electrical connected, but not by Best Buy installers. Make sure that you understand the Best Buy installation is simply sliding the unit into the cabinet.

    Rude and unprofessional installers

I paid the $19 which gave me the option of getting the installers to move the existing oven to a different location in my home. The installers refused to do that and in fact left the oven dismantled and in pieces in my garage. They were rude and unprofessional and Best Buy should not contract with them. On the bright side, the installation was done well.

I am extremely dissatisfied. Oven was purchased on April 25. Pre-measurement team arrived, as scheduled, on May 2 and determined that installation could proceed, as scheduled on May 26. Installation team arrived on May 26; but, was unable to proceed with installation due to lack of electrical parts. Nickson has been unable to reschedule the installation. On the first promised date, June 4, Nickson called to reschedule for June 5. On the second promised date, June 5, Nickson rescheduled to the afternoon of June 6. We did NOT confirm the afternoon of June 6; we called Nickson and requested the morning of June 6. Nickson accommodated our request and advised us that the installation had been scheduled for the morning of June 6. We waited at home all morning; but, the installation team did not call or arrive. Monday, June 11, is now the fourth promised installation date. From our customer perspective, Nickson has shown NO sense of urgency to respond to a problem for which they admit they are responsible.

I paid $199 for this install and it was not done. my oven has been backordered since October for our kitchen renovation. When it was finally delivered on 2/4, the installers claimed I would have to pay them an additional $500 to cut my cabinet and install a shelf for support. I ended up doing the cut out and support myself and hiring an electrician to install the oven. So the service was not performed, but Best Buy still has the install as being done in their system and I was still charged the $199. I am escalating the issue as I opted for 4 appliances from my order to be installed by Best Buy and only 1 was actually installed by them. I had to pay for someone else to install the other 3 appliances.

We had to have a small adjustment made to accommodate this oven. We paid BestBuy for installation then had to pay an additional $350 for the workmen to adjust and install it. I feel the additional $350 was excessive. I understand it should have cost a bit more but $350 was highway robbery.

The manual says there should be a minimum clearance from the bottom of the oven to the floor of 16 inches. Ours was installed at about 8 inches from the floor. You wouldn't think its a big deal, but that is where the oven vents out and because the clearance is so small, it heats our floor up to a point where you can barely stand there barefoot.

The installers (non Best Buy) did ok with the oven install until it came time for the chrome trim in each side. They acted like there was no trim and left in a rush before I could even discuss this further. I had to go to the store, explain situation, then store ordered trim and a different installer (not Best Buy) installed the trim.

    Maytag Double Wall Ovens

I purchased the Maytag Double Ovens on 1/28/17 and the delivery date was scheduled for 1/15.18. However when installed, I found the lower oven did not flushed with the top oven. About at least 1/4 inch on all side of the oven. Especially the bottom of the oven must be about 1/2 out. Installer said it's should be ok after few uses and the air tight tube inside the door will shrink. He even turn on to 500 degree to do the first run of new ovens. After he left, when I walked by the ovens, the lower oven was so hot I can feel the heat coming out, especially the bottom of the lower oven. I called Best Buy and was happy the customer service told me most likely of factory defect and will exchange a new one for me. It was scheduled for 3/3/18, but today I got a message that due to backorder, the ovens will not be delivered till 3/26/18, Almost 4 months before I can use the ovens. Up till now I still don't know how this double ovens perform?!
