Overall a different animal from the other games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's get this out of the way; I loved the original Dragon Age, especially Awakenings, despite all of its flaws. I have never been more disappointed in a game than I was with Dragon Age 2. I was quite leery of Inquisition, but I decided to give it a shot. The game does look quite nice, but Bioware remains squarely behind the competition in terms of quality of character models and character animation. The game is quite huge if you decide to explore everything, however, there is a decided lack of substantial quests; most consist of collecting things or finding a certain point and then fighting whatever's there. The battle system is basically MMO-lite, and while the game sees the return of the tactical display from the first game, you rarely, if ever, need to use it. The story is interesting enough, but some of the characters are suspect at best, Sera in particular. It seems she never really offers anything in terms of meaningful dialogue or development. Gag characters are fine but I don't feel like her quips are amusing, either. I dunno. All in all it's a good time waster.
