Great game, but the font size is a wee bit small for older eyes.

It's a fun game but the story can get really repetitive.

I am new to the Builders series, and not having ever played Minecraft, I had no idea how vast these types of games are. From my impressions, Dragon Quest Builders 2 is very similar to Minecraft but has a pretty in depth story in a similar vein as other Dragon Quest games. The main gameplay is building things. You start with a very limited amount of things you can build, and then you learn more through experimentation or progressing the story. The main story is about as long as an average JRPG (40-60hrs), I found myself deviating and building houses and architecture from my imagination just for fun. Obviously, if you're a creative person, this game can take up many days worth of your attention just building things. The only downside is that you have to get through a bit of the story in order for the game to open up and give you total freedom, and then at the halfway point you start unlocking more things to build. Long-term, this is a fantastic game, but not a sandbox game to just jump right into and start building freely right away.

Its just ok!!! Not over top good. Keeps you entertained I suppose.

Haven't used it yet. It's not even for me. It's a gift.

The lamp I bought is broken so now I have to take the time to return it, etc.

I loved the first game -- and anything Dragon Warrior/Quest -- and this game is far better. The graphics are better, you don't lose everything every chapter, etc, and the removal of your tools breaking down after use is just a godsend. Having a constant companion along for the ride is also a great addition, even if it does foreshadow an obvious "twist" in the story. Some of the conversations do get annoying with the typical Dragon Quest 'accents' and silliness, but overall, it's just a great game and a great addition to the Dragon Quest series -- Builder or otherwise!
