My grandson is 7 years old and has enjoyed playing this game.

would recommend this port to any fan of jrpgs, as it is very solid.

While not as great as DQ8, this is still a worthwhile rpg to experience.

This is my first Dragon Quest and it was pretty enjoyable.

Dragon Quest VII remade into a full 3D game? Yes please! While the original Playstation version was okay, it had it's fair share of problems. The 3DS version looks fantastic, fixes a few pacing issues and is just plain classic JRPG fun. Keep in mind this is easily a 100+ hour game. If you don't think you can commit the time, it may not be for you. No voice acting so there is plenty of reading and battles are classic DQ turn based. Enemies are now visible on the screen! It's nice to be able to choose the harder enemies when grinding for exp, and grind you will. They are hard to avoid in dungeons though, but can still be done. While the job system is touted as a feature in this game, it will take 20-30 hours to make it to Alltrades Abbey. So no jobs right off the bat. Start of the game is slow. Taking most people up to two hours just to reach a battle, but that is still faster than the original game. And I had not problem with it. I enjoyed the story it was starting up and getting to know the characters If you have a hankering for old school JRPG action, this is easy to recommend. Dragon Quest as a series has not deviated much from it's roots. And I love that fact.

For JRPG fans this game hits on all the marks. Great story, great graphics, tons of side quests, and a legitimately 100+ hour main story line. Taking place in a world where the entire world is just a single island. You and your friends find ancient ruins that allow you to travel to different lands and slowly rebuild the world. Each land you travel to has a self contained story that builds into the over all story. The dialog in this game gets special mention since each place you visit has a distinct accent that makes the lands feel unique. Combat is traditional turn based combat that Dragon Quest games have used for decades. If you like JRPGs I recommend this one.

I never got to play the playstation version of DQ7 so I was excited to get this game and it was definitely worth it. This game has a lot of content and plays just like many classic jrpgs but with some modern improvements.

An Interesting story mixed with a fast paced combat system make this game a dream to play. Game starts very simple and adds systems as you progress. Approachable for those new to Rpg's, but also deep enough and well designed to keep Rpg veterans hooked. Cannot recommend this game enough.

An excellent RPG from the ps1 days remade for the 3DS. Can't go wrong with this classic.

One of the rpgs is finally here, been playing it for hours on my 2DS and i love it.

This is a very nice remaster of the great DQ 7, makes things alot easier and much more eye candy for DQ fans of the series.

Great remaster of a classic RPG. If you love JRPG's this is a must buy. Very addictive game and highly recommended.
