The PS2 version of the game is far and away better in the graphical and audio departments, but it still is a solid game on the 3DS and a joy to play on the go.

Still remains a classic RPG and this version is fantastic. However, it should have been released at a lower price since the game is 10+ years old.

Classic game with a classic flair of art style of DBZ. The creator of DBZ did the art work on this game. A must have for JRPG aficionados.

I have not played this game since my playstation 2 days. This is one of the best jrpgs of the ps2 era and now I can take it with me anywhere.

Gave this to a friend and also played a little myself. It's pretty fun. I enjoyed the recent PS4 version so i'm glad they made a mobile one.

I haven't played this game yet. However the parts I did play looked great and I should note that the game does not use the 3D function.

I hadn't played dragon quest since dragon warrior 2. A lot of nostalgic bits have carried through to this. It has been good fun so far

This is my first dragon quest game and I’m really loving the character interactions. A little grindy but fantastic nonetheless

Excellent story, good characters, combat is a little slow but old school. Art is nice and pretty, it's Dragon Quest art.

This game is a ton of fun. I played it when it came out of the PS2 and I loved it then and still love it now. Game looks great, combat is fun, there is new additions to bring back original players, and the game has a ton of content. Definitely a game to pick up.

If you were able to play the PS2 release of Dragon Quest VIII; you will enjoy how accurate this remake of the game is. If you never got a chance to play the game 10+ years ago and you enjoy long RPGs with a little bit of a challenge, you will enjoy this game.

I remember playing this game when it first came out. It is a great game and looks pretty good on the 3DS. Only complaint is that the camera is a bit of a pain and there is not much use of 3D function (but I usually turn that low or off anyway). Great game!

This fixes some of the most annoying parts from the ps2 counterpart. You can now see enemies in the main world and alchemy is now instantaneous. They also added a camera mode which is sick. There's more improvements but I'm only 11 hours into the game

Having played this on the PS2, I enjoyed this version better. The ability to speed up battles and the decreased loading time when getting into and out of battle makes all the difference in being able to complete the game.
