It's a great camera! We purchased it to keep an eye on our yard and it has been perfect. The only reason why I didn't rate it a 5 is because of the wiring aspect. We have still yet to mount it. That would be a problem for any security unit (w/o going through a company) not just this one. The app on the iPhone is great too, there is a subscription fee, so be aware of that if you want to retain recordings.

easy to setup, limited features, does what it says

Bought the dropcam to keep an eye on the dog at home. Love the camera but hate the fact that you can not record locally. The only option is the company's cloud based storage which does not seem with the cost.

Works just like it is advertised. It was very easy to set up and get started.

Easy to set up and monitor pets. Also planning to use as a baby monitor.

Good product for general video surveillance. However there's no chance you'll get a license plate with this camera and anything moving is very blurry. Good product for the price. Easy to set up and easy to use. Wish you could just pay a flat rate with drop cam and have unlimited cameras. Its a linear price structure so as you add more, the cost goes up linearly after the second one.

Great WebCam for average user. Easy to setup and mobile app is user friendly.

Detects movement when their isn't any showing on the camera. Keeps shutting down when I'm away from home . I had to have someone go into my house and unplug the camera then plug it back in to work. When the power goes out the camera will not come back on when the power does. I wouldn't recommend this if your using it when you plan on going away for an extended amount of time.

the camera does everything it was advertised to do, but better

Purchased the dropcam to use as a video baby monitor. It works flawlessly. Setup took less than 5 minutes and was done completely on my iPhone. Once the baby no longer needs the camera, we have a great start to build a complete video monitoring solution for the house. It's also suprer handy that the device is compatible with our nest thermostat.

Great product. If I had ANY negative thing to say, it would be just that the wall mount is too flexible. It seems to hold on the wall with no problem, but it doesn't stop me from worrying.

For the price, you get commercial quality for half the price.
