expected a lot more for this camera. too many uncalled messages for motion sensor

I have 6 of them. I use all the time. Definitely go with the Pro model. It's worth the extra 100. You get a much wider viewing angle and I mean much wider and the quality is much better also. I use this all the time. The setup takes about 3 minutes. It's so easy. I like to go to the computer and watch my daughter in the living room on a separate browsing window or just on my phone. When she goes to sleep I will watch her in perfect night vision on either the iPad or my Android. I pay for the cloud feature also because if something happens I like to be able to go back and view it. If my daughter wakes up in the middle of the night or talks in her sleep I can go back and view it and even save it. I've never had any issues. The only issues I have had is when my internet is slow but that is not Dropcam fault that is my slow wifi. I would say if you have over 10 or 20 then connectivity is not an issue. Even with slow internet it will buffer the video and lag about 30 seconds behind but at least you get a good stream without interruptions. With faster wifi and internet you get instantaneous stream. My ex will log on also and watch us when we are home alone. She even uses the microphone feature to say hi to us. I cannot say enough good things about this camera and service. I have 6 hooked up and it's easy to find the cameras from the web service or the apps for your tablet or phone. It's been money well spent for me.

the my cloud program is way too expensive For just one camera

I asked me to make an account before doing anything else. This upside-down approach was a deal breaker for me so I returned it. There should be no account needed to view the camera over the my network. Accounts are for remote login/view. I own other cameras. I was always able to test them first over my network (from behind the router). Then I had the choice to create an account for remote viewing (or setup remote viewing myself). Otherwise, it does seem well made, but obviously I do not know how well it works.

I didn't care to much for it. Seemed like it had a fish eye type of picture (distorted) could have been a fluke. Who knows.. I did return it though.

I bought a dishwasher and it was delivered and installed professionally.

I purchased this camera to keep an eye on my condo when I am away. I purchased the Drop Cam Pro. This is an awesome camera. Good field of view and the infrared night viewing is excellent. I liked the first one so much I went and purchased a second one. The only thing I don't like is the sound. I can hear the TV or people talking but when you try and talk back to them its hard for them to hear you. This is really easy to set up and it works on my smart phone or IPAd after you download the app. Overall I really like this product.

Won't stay connected to wi fi...Dropped connection too many times....I returned it...

The Dropcam is a user friendly, affordable camera system that is great for fun or home security. It easily connects to your WiFi network and has a great support features on desktop or via the iOS/Android app. Placement is easy, but can be tricky depending on your intended use. The camera is made of good quality material the mounting system is simple and easy for adjustment. The night vision is not so great, but that depends on your circumstances with regards to internal and external light pollution. The motion detection is awesome and it is one of my favorite features. Being notified on my phone when something is going on is a very helpful. The Cloud Video Service is simple and easy to us, but to save video for 7 days or 30 days it does require a subscription service, so make sure you check out their website and fully understand this before buying. Otherwise you will only get Live streaming which may or may not be what you want. It's a great product for home security, but I have already caught some interesting/funny happenings so enjoy it for that too.

Just set up my first Dropcam Pro and love the ease of use and planned on getting more. I have connected the camera via AirPlay but as soon as you close your iPad/Computer or Phone the connection is lost. This limits the usability to just streaming on mobile device or computer only (which it works perfectly on). If your using these in an office or store setting and want to see if someone is about to walk in the door or walking around the store you will have to leave your device on and open all the time which is not feasible. If there were an App through Apple TV you could connect to a TV and leave it on all the time during business hours. Until this is available I am retuning the cameras I have to Best Buy. Bummer because I love love love the device. I guess nothing is perfect but for 200.00 per camera (50.00 more than most others) there needs to be a dongle or connection of some kind in the box to stream to a TV's HDMI or USB Port, if the app isn't going to be there... The future of video surveillance is here and its doesn't include the TV?? LOL!

Purchased (2) Dropcam Pro's right before Christmas because of all the theft I continue to hear about during Christmas. Have a home alarm, but it's nice to be able to monitor my home all day in real time and also get alerts when it sees activity. It also allows me to monitor my kids nanny and watch my kids at the same time if I choose. I am sure others can find other uses it for it, but it does the job for me. Pros: HD Quality Video Real time alerts Compatible with Apple & Google Easy set up Ability to monitor via internet and change settings quickly Night vision- Quality great Light Ability to move from room to room Save clips to the cloud(Cost associated if you want to save) Create time lapse as little as 30 seconds or longer Cons: Wish it was a little cheaper Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase that I ended up buying (2) more units. These cameras will provide me and my family full protection in the house

Please read the forums about the Dropcam Pro and smart phone alerts. I purchased a Dropcam today and couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting notifications. Even though Dropcam promotes the camera as a baby monitor, you only will get one push alert every 30 minutes. Baby moves minute 1 - alert. Baby cries or fusses at minute 25 - no alert. Which is more important? To Dropcam the first movement is the most important. I still plan on keeping the camera due to the high quality video, but I think as a baby monitor DropCam is lacking.

Bought 4 of these to cover my home. Installed and up in running in minutes. Everything works as it should. Cloud recording works great. Alerts have been real time. iPhone app is great. Very impressive. Night vision is decent for short distances. But I added a IR illuminator for the back yard and that lights it up better then a floodlight. These cameras depend on wireless networking. If your wifi works where you have the camera it will work great. If you have a poor wireless signal at the camera location it won't work properly. You can check by taking your laptop , ipad or iphone to the camera location to check your wifi strength. You need 1/2 MPS connection per camera which is pretty minimal. If you have a very poor Internet connection or wireless network don't blame the dropcam. People complain about the cost of cloud recording but really it works so well that it seems like a bargain. It has no DVR but a criminal just takes the DVR anyway. The cloud is the way to go. Can't wait for the outdoor model.

I have wanted a camera like this for years. It does everything I have wanted & more. I can bring up the website and peek in on my puppies in real time from anywhere. I can even talk to them. There is no charge for the viewing unless I want to go back months to view ( otherwise I can view alerts w/in 30 days) And I know nothing about hooking cameras up. This was so easy and I was SO excited to actually see what the dogs are doing from my iPhone (and which one did it.) Tip: Watch a few YouTube videos on this before purchasing if you have questions.

great camera, great picture, great sound quality. installation is super quick, had it setup in 10 minutes. night vision quality is amazing!

We purchased 2 cameras. The first one two months ago. The second one over the past weekend. This is a great camera with clear video and photos. We are anxiously awaiting an outdoor model but in the meantime, we have these mounted inside looking out our front and back windows. We may purchase the cases available elsewhere. We are also hoping future models are wireless. We also need to put in outlets and run electrical wiring if we mount them outside.

I just moved a corporate apartment and felt maintenance staff were in my apartment without authorization. Set up Dropcam and caught workers stealing property. Great video, motion detection very sensitive, and sound quality acceptable. Ability to store video offsite is a plus and very reasonably priced. Software worked great with my IPhone 6 and IPad II for monitoring.

Great camera. Good picture in all light conditions including no light. Very easy and quick setup. Works great on iPhone and iPad. Geofencing feature is a plus. It automatically turns the camera on when I leave the house and off when I return. After the free two week trial period for video storage, it does require a paid subscription if you want to continue with the recording storage. This is optional.

The only thing about the Drop Cam I would change, is that they would have an alarm sound with motion entry. Also, I have two, and I think I would like 4 more. I can see what is happening at home from anywhere. If I go to the store I can ask the family without calling what they want from the store and see what they are up to while I stepped out, I can watch my dogs in the house from work and speak to them. Once in awhile my internet connection isn't strong and I can lose the signal.

This is my 3rd dropcam and it is out front in a drop armor case. Best wifi camera you can buy!
