This cam is amazing love it. I am planning to own two more! Night vision on this thing is great and the audio on it !

Purchased it today, used IPad to connect with help technical support. Picture is sharp, quality product . I will definitely buy another one. Very pleased !!

When I first hook it up I was impressed but I do not need to have the camera on all the time so when I turned it on the image was upside down, WTH. I had to refresh the page a couple of times then close the page, open again and the image was right side up. Otherwise I have no other difficulties viewing my recording. Sadly, Best Buy no longer sell the other model in the store but at least I have some type of security.

Easy to set up. Easy to use. Excellent resolution and very good field of vision!

If you have the other products by Nest it is totally worth getting this camera. It works great as a baby monitor.

I purchased this camera a few months ago and it is nothing short of amazing! I don't have 1 complaint!

I looked into buying one due to having a "sitter" stay with my mother in law. She said she was a few minutes late but was more like 25. Installed the camera in just a very, very short time. Im not aTech person at all and it was easy. Wife and I both have it on our phones and can see that the "sitter" is not interacting with our family member at all. Just watching TV. This is her last day thanks to this camera.

I highly recommend this camera. we have it in the window to monitor our house when we are out. We have had no problems, we have had it three weeks always works. This is a very reliable system. it is a nice inexpensive security system, at a much cheaper cost.

The camera is expensive and on top of that the monthly cost for the cloud is outrageous. This camera is useless without paying for the cloud. You cannot record or save your recordings unless you pay a monthly fee.

After wasting hours trying to get a Dlink DCS-5222L to work I took it back and got this camera based on reviews. Unlike the Dlink, no ethernet cable was required, no downloading of a "setup Wizard" required, only the supplied USB cable was needed and I was up and running in minutes. I also prefer the black color and shape that does not stand out like the DLink does. After trying the Dropcam, I bought another the next day. Besides the easy setup, I like the customization available, and its performance in low light. One camera is used in a dark basement to look for water in case the sump pump should fail and the image is very well lit. The motion and sound alerts work well thru alerts to my iPad and iPhone and emails to my Macbook Pro. It cost $30 more than the DLink which I am not crazy about but when I consider the hours wasted trying to get the DLink to run, plus the return hassle I guess it is money well spent. The main problem I have is the cost of the optional recording service. I do not have a big need for it so will let it pass after the 14 day trial. If it was more reasonable I would go for it however.

The quality of the camera is excellent. I love viewing the live feed from my phone. But in my opinion you will need to pay for the recording service to really benefit from the camera. In my opinion the cost for the recording service is way too high.

This is a great little camera with a very clear picture. We use it at our place of business. My main complaint is the microphone, very misleading. You do not have the ability to speak into the mic and be heard. You can hear the party on the other end where the camera is installed quite well, even in our noisy mechanic shop. All in all decent camera. I would certainly recommend to a friend.

I purchased product to watch dogs while away. Having 2 way audio and talk was imperative and a hard feature to find. I have 2 computers, one works on XP, the other Windows 8.1. The Windows 8.1 setup was truly super simple and the 2-way audio worked right away once I realized I have to push the microphone icon (aka talk button) and let the 2 minute clock running down on the screen. Clock is nice because you know the Dropcam microphone is on and dogs can hear me. Voice quality thru both computer and Dropcam was clear, not muffled and loud enough. Getting the audio to work on the older netbook with XP model took some doing though. Eventually went to settings, turned all audio features on. Internet Explorer pop up asked if I wanted to enable microphone and audio. Clicked yes and works just fine!! The XP is my travel computer and will be primarily used to access Dropcam. It does drop signal and has to reload everytime the dogs move which interrupts viewing, but connects back eventually. I will play with system to see if can adjust movement sensitivity, but could be due to XP and old RAM operating system cause doesn't happen on new computer. Don't have to view dogs 100% of the time so Its a minor annoyance. Very happy with product.

Many security cameras specifications do not explain how good the cameras are or parameters such as ease of setup. This camera is technically good and meets all my criteria for an acceptable multi-camera system. After trying competitive brands I am convinced DropCam Pro (HD) is the best for now in the following areas; cost, ease of setup, construction, functionality and upgrades. Lacking one star due to disappointing support and lack of actions by the manufacturer to meet the customers needs and requests (see the blog section on their website). As soon as the first camera I bought was installed and functioning I was able to quickly upgrade the camera firmware without any problems. After installing a second camera the online recording service showed how good it is. I am able to view and record clips and send them out and download them. Searching is easy due to the color key for motion detection areas that trigger "event notices". Sound detection is very good and adjustable, too. True, 720p is not 1080P, but satisfactory. One competitive camera is 1080i which produces a sharper picture. However, that camera is difficult and time consuming to setup and does not have an option for cloud recording capability. There are upgrades Dropcam needs to address in their next release; True full HD, more recording options, outside housing and or model capability, text notifications, cable color, preset zoom settings with compatible detection zones and better discounts for multi-camera cloud recording subscriptions. That said, the cameras I have installed are working well so far short-term, the motion detection notifications give me peace of mind and I am not wasting my time with setup or troubleshooting these cameras that other brands require. Other users have complained about the subscription cost for the cloud recording service. I would like to see more discounts, but the service is robust as I stated. Looking forward to the next generation of Dropcam models!

The Piper is literally DIY everything, including monitoring. What good is a security system if you can’t rely on anyone to call help when you need it and you have to do it yourself? What if you don’t get a notification on your phone that the alarm has gone off? I went with Armorax. They're a DIY security company but they do professional monitoring. They’re new but have a lot going for them. I love that they have 24 hour customer support and lifetime replacement warranty. You won’t find many home security companies that do both.

APRIL 2015 .. I've had Dropcam PRO for almost 2 years. Over the past couple of months, I am not consistently getting text messages of activity. Yes, I have fast WIFI and internet service at the house. No issues with other devices using internet. I've not changed anything other than Dropcam forcing me (and all others) to create a NEST account for the Dropcam. Dropcam company was bought by NEST, then NEST was bought by Google. Ever since the acquisition of NEST by Google, the notifications that movement has occurred within the field of vision of the camera is VERY inconsistent. This week I turned on Dropcam 3 times for about 1 hour each time. Two out of the 3 times no notifications of movement were sent to my cell phone. It also happened last week, and several times before that also. The activity is clearly shown on the video stored at the Dropcam site so it is not the camera or my internet connection sending video to their site. And it is not my phone or wireless service. TERRIBLE, UNTRUSTWORTHY !!

I bought these cameras to tie into my home automation system. I'm not paying for video storage. My setup activates the camera when I goto sleep and when I'm away from home if certain things happen in my home. I then get a message and a stream of still pictures to review. So far I haven't had any issues with the cameras. If you do have issues I suggest you check your network setup or call your ISP if you need assistance. I have had these cameras for a long time and they have never been offline. I would also recommend you buy a UPS (uninterrupted power supply)for your network equipment. This is a great investment and you should probably get an additional supply for your computer if you're able to do so. One outage and you'll be so happy you've made that investment.

I had trouble setting up with WIFI, but using my phone (Samsung Galaxy S5) was super easy and much quicker. I have the duel band 5G network and needed the DC Pro as it was the only one that worked with this duel router. The night view is super clear. The mic is clear and can easily be heard. Bought this to keep an eye on my newborn and glad I went with this one so I'm not using the recording feature. Not sure how much better this one is over the normal dropcam as I couldn't get it connected to my WIFI as the lower priced one didn't work with my router. Sometimes it drops off my network but its really easy to get back on and I can view it anywhere. Wish it was a little cheaper, but for a $200 camera I'm very pleased with the picture.
