I love my PS3, but I don't think its a stretch to say that the DS3 could have been a better controller. The DS4 is slightly larger, weightier, and fits my hand perfectly. The rechargeable battery saves me money on batteries, and the battery life is long. I definitely recommend buying a second DS4 to have one charging while gaming with the other. Finally, I know that it can be tempting to go with the cheaper, third-party controllers. Don't do it. The official Sony model is worth the extra $10-20.

These seem a lil cheaper made than the ones that come with the console to me, buttons more clicky-clacky. Overall, gets the job done.

They’re Great!

They’re very comfortable and easy to use. Like anything if you take of it it’ll take care of you. We have 8 controllers total, and 4 are spares. Try buying a decent used PS3 controller (because the “new” ones are all fakes). You can’t. I recommend stocking up on a few extra, you’ll appreciate it down the road!
