    Simple, the aftermarket ones just don't hold up. These units are tough and last for years, versus the cheapo units out there, that you will replace soon after.

    For the parents out there: yes, go ahead and buy it. Mine has fallen off the bed at least 15 times onto wood flooring and you can't tell! Worth the money!

    It's newer than the original model that came with my ps4 500gb model. It has a nice grip and feel. The touchpad in the middle has a light bar which I didn't use to have.
