The second one works like it should. The first was possibly a switched controller , seemed odd for a new controller to have a loose charging port.

You play with friends and family, thus another controller... Had to get one for my grandson, he's happy now that I can play games with him... And I happened to catch it on sale that weekend, BONUS!!
