Always fail in short order

If you google it, you will see it is a common problem with these controllers. I am absolutely sick of buying these things.

Hit and Miss

The most commons issues I have experienced (on multiple Sony PS4 Dualshock controllers) are the L1 and R1 buttons getting stuck (in the depressed position) and the L3 & R3 sticks failing to control game movement accurately. Everything breaks with use, however when the same issues are recurring you begin to hope for another solution.
