The Dualshock 4 is a great controller. This review is specifically about the "20th anniversary edition". As you probably know, last year Sony released a commemorative console that came, of course with a controller with this color scheme. However, that one had a really nice detail that this one does not have. On the touchpad, it has engravings of the square, triangle, cross and circle symbols, with a few number 2's thrown in there next to the circles (to form 20's, get it?). So, this controllers that are being released are identical, except for that little detail. The touchpad in these controllers is the regular old touchpad from every other color Dualshock 4. A little bit of a bummer.

These controllers are well built and reliable. I have 4 other controllers, this is my fifth one. I have 2 PS4's so I needed more controllers. I haven't had one of these break, they get worn out some and replacing the internal parts is easy, or buy the controllers when they go on sale.

Sony has made several minor tweaks (ranging from the analog sticks on the original PSX to the center touchpad on the PS4 controller) over the course of their console history, but the same overall design, size, and button layout have remained largely intact. It's simply one of the best controllers ever made, and it holds its charge for several hours of gameplay.

This controller replaced a broken original controller. If you're replacing a Sony PlayStation controller, I recommend you stay with Sony brand. It was easy ordering from Best Buy and was delivered to our home in a couple days. Oh, and Midnight Blue is a cool color.

The PS4 controller is a great controller. Only issue was with thousands of hours of gameplay, the joy sticks started to become overly sensitive. This was more of the application than the controller itself. If used on a PS4 instead of PC, I’m sure the PS4 would compensate. It’s overall a great controller. Much more comfortable and versatile than an Xbox controller. In fact, it’s not comfortable or easy to use the left joystick with your right hand on an Xbox controller due to its opposing design from the Sony controller. This is why I strongly prefer the PS4 controllers.
