This is a pretty good adaptation of the beginning of the Dune books. I’ve read the books, so that helps me keep track of who is who and what’s going on. This film is the first of a trilogy or more. I do not know this for sure. I have not researched it, but no way could they conclude the story with only one more film. Technically, the movie was pretty good - the obligatory special effects and all. My only concern was that some scenes were dark - black really - but that may be on me. I just purchased a 4K tv and player and this was the first film I watched on the new system and I had not yet tweaked the picture settings. I will watch it again soon to see if the tweaking helps. Otherwise, a notable film to add to your collection.

I am a bit of an oddbal, being both a fan of the book as well as David Lynch’s 1984 film adaptation (what that film lost from the book it more than made up for in tone/atmosphere/cinematography). Now compared to this film, this one is grander, darker, and more fleshed out/accurate than the 1984 version. While I will forever be a fan of the original film, this one really comes closest to the source material. I can’t wait for the next part!!!

Incredible PQ! Great rendition of a classic novel. Easily set up for a sequel. Movie was a lot of fun to watch. LOVE the steelbook!

Fantastic film and looks amazing. 4K presentation is done really well and the sound is fantastic. Could not have enjoyed it more.

And absolutely must own movie on 4K absolutely demo worthy the Dolby Vision visuals are super amazing. The Dolby Atmos is a killer for any theater system.

The special effects in this movie are gorgeous. Truly stunning to look at. Sound is amazing as well.

A good movie, with fun and dramatic features. I just ended up wanting it too late, as the digital copy had expired and I couldn't have WB send me a new one. So timing disclaimers might be important for movies that were in circulation for a while.

After all this time I finally aquired this Dune 4k steelbook! Unfortunately I can only give it 4 stars out of 5, because NO IMAX scenes?! Still, a good movie, and soundtrack.

Great looking 4K! The movie is also amazing! One of the bests from 2021. If you want to show off your 4K TV this is it.

Native 4K. Stunning 2160P transfer. Straight 2.39:1 aspect ratio. Dolby Atmos soundtrack is a powerhouse presentation.

Both movie and steelbook are a work of art! Probably one of the best looking 4K movies in my collection of over 200+!

By no means is this film perfect, but it is entertaining. It was FAR superior on IMAX. I saw it four times on IMAX! A video on YouTube shows the difference in quality. NOT a perfect adaptation of Frank Herbert's novel, but it does reflect his story better than the David Lynch 1984 film. In an interview he openly admitted he did not want to make a perfect adaptation of the novel. I think he described the source material as a kung fu adventure in space. I still wish Legendary and Warner Bros. had DV make book 1 into 3 parts instead of 2. FH divided his novel into 3 books: DUNE, MUAD'DIB, and THE PROPHET. However, I understand he wanted to finish his directing of FH's stories with DUNE MESSIAH.

Good movie can’t wait for the second one! Not as much Zendaya in this one as the commercials made it seem. She’ll be more in the second one

One of the great films of 2021 by a director who's proven that he can combine blockbuster-size visuals and action with intimate, low-key drama and character-development. This 4k-disc looks fantastic with Dolby Vision and an Atmos soundtrack which is integral to the films tension and enjoyment. This is the ONLY way to see this wonderful film, if you want to truly enjoy it. The one gripe would be that it lacks the theatrical releases IMAX-scenes, but I can live with that!
