Near perfect first part of the novel. Visionary! Beautiful cinematography.

It was a very good movie, being able to capture the novel was done very well in this movie. Compared to the 1984 Dune, this tops it so much better.

The picture quality on this movie is amazing and I enjoyed the movie also.

The worms in this movie are real. They live deep in the Sahara Desert. They actually do secrete a substance similar to spice, but it tastes like eggnog and the Eskimos that live in the desert feed it to their camels which allows them to travel across the desert very fast. They also talk to their camels using a means similar to the Voice used by the Bene Gesserit in Dune.

Best movie ever! Cannot wait for part 2. Watched this disc 4 times so far.

My review is not for the movie, that I loved, or the quality of the disc itself. Rather it is for Best Buy's customer service. I purchased Dune online during the Black Friday sale and it arrived this afternoon, November 29. Unfortunately the case was cracked. I read the instructions and took it to the store so they could order a replacement. The associate went to find a supervisor who told me that they could not order it from the store and wrote the phone number on my receipt. I drove home and called the number. After a half hour on the phone and after having asked for a replacement the representative offered me the options of driving to another store miles away for an exchange or a $5.00 credit for the damaged case. I took the credit, it's better than nothing. Afterward, I looked up Dune at Best Buy's web site and it was still available although the price had reverted to it's normal $18.99 rather than the $9.99 I paid. In the end, I taped the pieces together. I know that Buy Buy is exiting the physical media business, but this is unacceptable.
