I have excess length bound up behind my PC ..which the excess cord is somewhat in the way but also if I need to move my desk the extra is nice to have. So really the excess cord is not a big deal I signed up for the excess as a possible future convenience..if I need to move to another area of the house for remote-work. I like the versatility of this item. Perfect.
