Didn't last a week

It did fine for a few days then just stopped working. I tried it with a few other appliances to see if it was the laptop, but it just didn't work. Being disabled I do a lot of online purchasing and this was part of a much larger order. Very disappointed in this. I have used others to extend the length of earbuds to my television and desktop that cost <$5 and they've help up for the last 6 months just fine.

No sound in one ear

They are inexpensive ear buds but work fine once the extension is removed. It was a B-day present so we exceeded Best Buy's 15 day return policy (another set may have worked)?
