It's a magnificent product. It has the option to dry and straighten. The time it takes is very fast, and it leaves your hair looking beautiful. For example, my hair is wavy, and when I use the airstrait, it straightens easily and doesn't damage it. I'm very happy I bought this airstrait Dyson!! It is the Best!

I bought this as a gift for my wife who never asked, wanted or heard of it. Because of this, her expectations were low. After all, what Dyson promises with this dryer/straightener seems too good to be true. I on the other hand, I had high expectations. To be fair, it's not cheap and high price tags don't always mean you're getting a superior product. For that kind of money, it better be. I took advantage of Best Buys Drops that saved me a lot on it so I thought it would be worth a try. My wife has thick, long, wavy, course hair that not only takes longer to wash but takes even longer to dry and straighten. She loves having absolutely straight hair and will go through her hair multiple times with her traditional flat iron before she's happy. All the while, the heat can be damaging which means we keep a regular supply of products for repairing and protecting her hair. Just after trying the Dyson once, we were both left in shock how well and how quickly it worked. She had dry and perfectly straight hair in 15 minutes; a process that normally took well over 30 minutes before. Even better, breakage and fly-aways was pretty non-existent. The most impressive part was how well it held, never having to come back minutes or hours later to touch-up. We could tell a difference after she slept on it too because it still required little or no straightening. She absolutely loves it and I believe her hair does too because it's noticably healthier just after a couple of weeks of use. I waited until after she used it the first time before revealing how much I paid. I was expecting the "OMG" response followed by the demand to return it but to my surprise, that never happened. She and I agree that it's worth it because it's leaps and bounds better than the countless dryers and straighteners she's used in the past. The true value isn't the product itself but rather the time my wife saves from doing the one thing she doesn't enjoy. If you can justify the cost on those grounds, then it's worth the investment. Otherwise there are plenty of cheaper alternatives with the same outcome but they may cost more in the long run. I'll conclude with this; Dyson has made us believers.

I've been using the Dyson Airstrait for a few weeks now and it's one of the best hair purchases I've ever made! My hair is very smooth, even and looks much more well-groomed after using it. What I like most is that it doesn't overdry my hair and straightens it really quickly. Very easy to use, everything is intuitive. The difference from using a regular hair dryer is huge.

I purchased this hoping it wouldn't live up to the hype. I had every intention of getting it out of my system after trying it out and then returning it. However, it truly is AMAZING!!! Definitely worth the big investment. I have very thick, coarse, wavy/curly hair. It usually takes me about 35 minutes to blow dry and then at least another half hour to flat iron. With the Airstrait, I started at 28 minutes from wet to dry AND straight, and now I'm down to about 20 minutes. A bit of a learning curve, but I am totally LOVING this tool. Highly recommend.

This is the best hair tool I have owned. I can get my long hair done in abiut 20 minutes and no hair damage. I won't travel without it.

I was excited to try this because I struggle to straighten my hair. Not all straighteners work for me, and I liked the idea of less Hera damage. Luckily this didn't disappoint. It leaves my hair nice, it's not pinpoint straight as my current straightener, but it does a well enough job. I definitely don't feel or smell the burn in my hair. Cuts time to straighten by a lot as I can do it from wet to straight. But even the straightening time takes less.

Used on thick natural wavy hair. Comes with pad to place on, no storage bag.

I decided to wait to review this item. I have now had it for about 6 months. This is the greatest thing ever invented. It has cut my drying time by more than half and also includes styling. My hair feels healthier than ever and I am not having near the loss or breakage that I was with a traditional blow dryer and flat iron. Yes, it is a lot of money, but.... it is something you use almost every day. It works great on wet hair and helps tame my hair on the "no wash" days.

I was skeptical, but after having it a while I'm really happy with it. Dries my hair very quickly and once you get comfortable with it, it doesn't take long at all. It's expensive, but if it last a long time it'll be worth it. My other Dyson products have been durable, so I'm hoping that is the case with this. The case is a good quality, but it's big and takes up a lot of space. I still use it so that it's protected against just wrapping the cord around it and throwing in a drawer. The power brick on the cord is big, heavy, and will be a pain if you don't have a counter for it to lay on while you use it. Overall I'm very happy with it.

I was going to return this, then I used it. I have naturally curly hair and have a longstanding routine for straightening my hair--this includes washing, pulling it into a tight ponytail to let it dry as straight as I can, then using a flatiron to straighten the rest. NO MORE-- I can shower, use this combo dryer/straightener and be hair ready in less than 30 minutes. I receive multiple compliments when I use this. It is worth the extra money!

It works great and fast. My hair is really thick and usually takes over 20 minutes just to get it to a damp stage. Still too wet for the flat iron so usually I have to go do something and then use the flat iron because the heat burns the hair. This handles everything in one step and it only takes about 15 minutes to do my hair. I won't ever say that a hair tool this expensive is a deal/bargain, but it does exactly what it says it does.
