Turns out is was not... But I must say I was surprised at how well it works and the quality of the build is right up there with other Dyson products. My wife has used this daily since receiving it for the holidays and she is still finding new ways to use it. It does has a bit of a learning curve but it seems to do the job and just as well as they say it will. Best of all, it was the first present in a while that my wife keeps talking about and using on a regular basis. It costs quite a bit more but her satisfaction is worth every penny.

I have very thick hair and it's pretty long. The brush attachments work great. I love using it to smooth out my hair and it makes my hair incredibly soft after using. I haven't quite mastered the curling attachments and will probably need to purchase the long barrels. I still like it overall. 2. I used this on my mom's shorter hair and WOW. It did amazing. It gave her normally thin hair body and volume that she normally doesn't get with a curling iron or hair dryer. Would definitely recommend for short hair!
