Not Worth the $$$

Hair has to be completely wet to use the curling attachments. Even the slightest amount of dry hair would knot when I would try to curl, my hair, and my hair dries so quickly it was difficult. The curls wouldn't hold at all. I have much better luck styling with a standard barrel curling device. I ended up returning this product.

We wouldn't expect that you'd need to style your hair while completely wet, as the Airwrap does work best when your hair is damp. If you find that your hair dries too quickly, you can use a spray bottle to dampen hair as you go. We're sorry to hear that you found your curls would drop. The end result varies and depends on a combination of factors – hair type, hair length, settings you use the product at or how wet the hair is before styling. If your experiencing curls dropping out, a few tips to help improve would be ensuring the hair is damp before styling, that the barrels are held in place until the hair is dry, and to use the cold shot to set the curls.

I had heard and seen great reviews. I have above the shoulder, thin hair. It did not curl my hair at all. For $500 I expected beautiful curls without the damage of the heat. Posted .Hi Stephanie, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that in your use, you found the Dyson Airwrap to be difficult to use. The Airwrap does have a learning curve to it. For best results, start with freshly washed hair. All three brushes can be used on wet hair, but the barrels work best on damp hair. Use the Pre-styling dryer to dry hair to damp before styling with the barrels. When your hair is damp dry, it will look dry but feel cold to the touch. I color my hair regularly and wanted to invest in a healthier way to style my hair. I heard great things about the Dyson air wrap and I was a little hesitant at first because of the price, but I thought in the long run it would be worth it. The first day I got it I tried it out and I was so disappointed. It barely straightened my hair and I still had a lot of frizz. I know it says it doesn’t use as high a heat as other products but it still got as hot as my other straightener. I returned it the very next day. My one step hair dryer from Revlon works so much better on my hair and for $50. I’m not saying it’s a bust, but maybe just not meant for coarse hair.
