I have the original animal upright and a newer Dyson compact. Bought this and it cleaned up an unbelievable amount 1 day after using the compact in the same rooms. The suction is unreal and the new tangle free head even made Persian carpet fringe a stress free event. Highly recommend for anyone, especially a pet owner.

Had a previous model of the Animal, and it lasted around nine years. This one seems to have more suction and the beater bar works amazingly well as it's a different/better design - it pulled SO much dirt and dust out of the carpet the first time we used it we were shocked.

I love how easy it is to use the vacuum and throw out the garbage. It’s not heavy at all and k love that it has the light on the wand and the bottom. I definitely recommend but this.

Strongest vacuum ive ever owned. I used my old vacuum and right after used this one. The amount of dirt that this picked up even after using the old one was insane.

This vacuum is powerful when first vacuuming but that's all that I can say to be excellent. I think this vacuum is a bit overpriced at $300 on sale. Sometimes it has a hard time standing on its own which is not good if i'm spending $300 on a vacuum. The hose portion of the vacuum is very flawed in design, You have to push it up and try and use it with a long hose that's not very flexible. I will give credit that it did pick up old carpet cleaner powder which was still in the carpet for months before using this vacuum. However at $300 its still an expensive item that doesn't feel like it's $300 material wise. It looks futuristic but most of it is plastic that can bend easily. I ended up returning within 15 days and getting my $300 back, It's a lot of money for a vacuum cleaner so I'll be looking for something else that's about half the price or less.

Ran our Shark vacuum over the living room floor a few times. Then, whipped this bad boy out. The amount of hair and dust it pulled out of the carpet was unbeliavable. It fees like it suction cups the ground. Its a beast…just buy it.

Easy to assemble, could suck chrome off a bumper. Light and very maneuverable

Great product as always. The lock for standup and the head seem a little lower quality than older models but still performs great. Storage for attachments is not great.

1st time Dyson owner, so glad I got it. Never knew how much cleaner my carpets would be.

In the best way possible. I have the V10 cordless for hard to reach places, and this beast that does all the heavy lifting. Only con is that its a little heavy for stairs, and the extending hose is a little unfriendly to use. The noise level is much better than most other options on the market. Would reccomend to anyone with pets!

Cleans very well a little heavy though When using but picks up very well

This is absolutely the worst appliance I have ever purchased, It is extremely heavy and I can only use it on the highest carpet setting. The hose with the attachments is short and is restricting. Expensive piece of plastic! This replaced a 30 year old self propelled Hoover which I loved.

Extremely thorough vacuum cleaner. Picks up all of the hair from my two dogs on the carpet. I have small kids who play in the carpet, so I want to make sure it is clean for them at all times. This vacuum cleaner helps do the job. my only complaint is that it doesn’t handle stairs very well, even with the manual cleaner.

Second Dyson Animal we have purchased. The first one lasted for just a touch less than 10 years with heavy use. Lightweight and easy to maneuver. Picks up pet hair very well. Provides a strong balance between maneuverability and sheer suction power.

I really like the vacuum and it has a lot of suction. The only thing I see missing that I would like is a light in the front.

Had a one of the original Dyson vacs before but it broke down and needed replacing. I'm a big fan of Dyson aside from the fact that they're pretty pricey. That said, I went and got this one and was not disappointed. I don't have a pet so I can't comment on the pet hair pick up of this thing but it performs great for me. Whether hardwood or carpet, this thing will grab every little bit of dust, everytime. I don't really use the attachments that much but they work great too. Only gripe is the extended hose. If you're using it to vacuum stairs then it works great. However, if you're trying to use it in smaller, confined spaces then it's almost worthless since it bunches up around the hose end. That said, this thing works great and worth every penny IMO

I love Dyson products! This vacuum is incredible and has great pick up power.
