I just expected a smoother user exsperience for the price and brand.

I love it! cant tell you how many time I cleaned the previous vacuum out. This one is awesome! Great cleaning the first time through, I have tested by cleaning one area and then emptying the canister and going back over it again. Hardly anything comes out a second time through.

The only down side is transitioning between using the hose is not as easy as you would hope. So you'll have an easier time first going through the house with the vacuum and coming back through with the hose attachments.

So i decided to buy another one since this one worked so well after so many years. I am very disappointed in the new model. Vacuum is very cheaply made. I don't think it has as much suction. It doesn't hold as much in the canister. I don't know if it will last as long but we will see. In my opinion this is not previous standards of Dyson!
