Difficult to assemble. Does not turn easily. Disappointed.

Terrible product. Way to heavy to use and the ball prevents you from getting underneath objects. I returned the product because it was unusable for my wife

The Dyson has been great for our 4000 square foot house. We have a big 120 pound dog and this helps get all the hair and dust that he tracks in. I will empty the bin a few times just during one vacuum session as it cleans do deep. It’s also very easy to clean and maintain which justifies the higher price compared to others.

I wanted to leave a review for the Animal 2, but that’s not here anymore. I assume the 3 improves on the 2. That said, after 5-years with the 2 I have to say it’s a BEAST. I make that statement with the admission I haven’t (until recently) taken good care of it! I dumped it, cleaned the roller…, but I didn’t GET UP IN THERE and clean ALL the tubes and hoses on the regular. I’m JUST changing the filters. I have two dogs and it was STILL picking up tons of hair. After good cleaning it’s CRAZY good. I can’t imagine a better machine out there without going commercial.

I hated spending the money but it was actually well worth it - especially with pets. The suction is good. The length of the cord is great. I know other reviews complain about not being able to maneuver very well but I haven't had any issues with that. It seems to move perfectly fine on all my area rugs and carpets. My only personal complaint is I miss the automatic cord winding feed that my other vacuum had. That's it. The directions did not have any info on where the attachments attached to but I googled it and found it quick enough. Overall, so far, it was well worth the money and I feel it will last a long while.

We purchased this about 2 months ago and I absolutely love it. I had a Bissell before and it did fine on normal messes, but I have a border collie. There are precious little hairs EVERYWHERE no matter how much I vacuum. The Dyson Ball Animal has changed the game! It catches dog hair, dirt, and grime that I didn’t even know was there! My rugs and floors have never been cleaner. I absolutely recommend this vacuum for anyone with pets (or who just want a clean feeling and looking home) because it does the trick! It’s so easy to handle and the cord is so long. I absolutely recommend.

Dyson products seem to always be ones made to delight. I really enjoyed this vacuum which is an upgrade for my family over a Dyson - Cinetic Big Ball Animal Bagless Upright Vacuum - Iron/Purple that purchased from Best Buy 6 years ago. 6 years later and Dyson's vacuums are still amazing, this one has strong suction that you expect from the name and is somewhat smaller and more compact that the predecessor. I think it runs quieter too although I have not used the deicbel app to compare quantitatively. The smaller size means that there are spots in the corners and around furniture that are now easier to vacuum than before but the head itself sits taller, tall enough that I can no longer vacuum underneath the chairs and couches. The reason for the change in headsize is actually the main draw of this vacuum -- the head has been completely redesigned so as to prevent the bunching of pet hair within the bristles. As we have a dog and two cats sharing the house with us, this has been a pain point in the past. Even our dysons need to be taken apart and cleaned of fur at least every 6 weeks so that they continue to run smooth. The early results from a weekend of vaccuming are very promising: the bristles are still out-of-the-box new despite several passes over our house that had gone embarrasingly long between vacuums prior delivery of a new machine. I'm hopeful that this is another part of cleaning that Dyson has made slightly easier.

I had a Dyson canister vac that finally died after maybe 10-11 years so I bought this one. Pros: typical Dyson suction which in the end is all that really matters. Cons: 1. waaayyyy too heavy, real struggle to maneuver - by the time I'm done vacuuming the house I'm completely worn out and in pain. 2. does not go under my (high) bed or under any furniture (my canister vac did that with ease). 3. handle is flimsy (all Dysons have flimsy handles and attachments though - by the time my old one died it was wrapped in a significant amount of duct tape). 4. If you're spending this amount on a vacuum, the cord should be retractable, or there should at least be a clip on the handle for securing the cord while in use. 5. Because the suction is so good, the hose (for attachments) does not expand at all, so while you have 10+ feet of hose you can't actually use it for anything high up. No cobweb extraction with this thing. I used to love vacuuming with my old Dyson but by the time I'm done vacuuming with this thing I'm almost in tears and probably 100 expletives have been showered upon it. Just be forewarned.

This is an outstanding vacuum with a couple of drawbacks. First let's always talk about the good. This vacuum sucks! It has amazing power. I used my previous vacuum before i used the new Dyson for comparison. After using the new Dyson i was amazed how much more the Dyson picked up. Now I vacuum weekly, but this was almost embarrassing of how much more the Dyson picked up. I was absolutely blown away. I could see an immediate difference in the carpets. As far as hard flooring, when you turn off the brushes it becomes a wind tunnel and pulls up everything in sight. The additional cleaning tools work just as well. Dyson lives up to its reputation of being an excellent home cleaning machine. OK so for the two drawbacks one is very minor, the other definitely needs mentioning. The assembly instructions need to be more detailed. It took some YouTube videos to ensure it was all done properly. The other issue is the maneuvering. While the ball works absolutely as expected, it is definitely hard to push across carpets. You really have to have some push behind it. This was a but disappointing in an otherwise outstanding device from Dyson. 4 out of 5.

Great vacuum! It does the job picking up animal hair and dust and moves from rug to floor seamlessly. It took a few times to get the off and one of the spin brush, but once you get the hang of it works great. The only reason it is a 4 star is that it is quite heavy so taking it up and down the stairs is a bit difficult.

This was a replacement for an aging Dyson DC07 and overall very happy with it. First off assembly was straight forward and easy. No tools. All parts click firmly in place following the included assembly diagram. This was our first experience with a “ball” vacuum and we found it was easier to maneuver than our older version. The one drawback was when you lock it in the upright position there are two additional smaller wheels that create a tripod if you will. If you move the vacuum raised onto just these wheels it will move fine on tile and wood floors, but on our carpeted bedrooms when pushing it forward it will drop off the wheels and ontol the main ball. Performance was as good if not better than the older DC07. No problem picking up dry cereal and rice from the living room area rug. Emptying the canister is an easy process similar to the older version. The only knock I had was they’ve changed the way accessories attach to the wand. We have a power brush from the old vacuum that we used on the wand for vacuuming under the beds that won’t work with this unit. Don’t like that accessories are not backward compatible and the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

I wish I could give 5 stars. But, it really heavy and hard to maneuver!

Perfect upgrade from my last vacuum. Great for pet hair and long human hair, light, easy to use, gets everything up, not super loud.

Easy set up. Easy to use and lightweight. Cleans carpet and tile floors great.

Best in it's class. We have used Dyson for many years and this is wrapped in complete disguise as a gift for my partner. The title is a tad deceiving because actually/technically vacuums pull. But it will suck up dog hair, dust bunnies crumbs and anything else you might have lost on your floors. It also enables you to go through what you picked up to see if you have lost anything like Diamonds etc.

Great vacuum. Longer cord than the older model we had since 2009 and much better suction!

So far this vacuum is working very well. Does very well to pickup dog hairs out of the rugs. Easy to empty.

Best vacuum cleaner ever. My carpets have never been cleaner.

This thing sucks. It works better than your wife. If you dont want hair on her carpet, get this vacuum. Best suction I have ever had.
