Not what I expected for a Dyson

This new one seems to be cheaply made. The suction is good but I honestly regret this purchase. Cheap plastic and I don’t feel it’s all that user friendly.

It would be unusual to hear that the unit feels cheap. Dyson vacuums are made from polycarbonate ABS - the same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. They are tough, so we subject them to hours of testing, including drop and impact tests. Dyson machines are built to withstand years of residential household use.

Not worth the hype

My last vacuum was a hoover windtunnel air and was the best vacuum ever for 5 years until the starter stopped working. I bought this one on sale and it just doesn't compare to the hoover. The vacuum doesn't stay up right when not in use. The parts do not easily come off, making it harder to clean. If the sale price wasn't a steal, I probably would have returned it and gotten a different vacuum.

We're sorry to hear that in your use, you've found that your machine doesn't stay locked into the upright position. There will generally be two clicks that you should get when putting the vacuum into the upright position. These clicks are not always noticeable unless put into the upright position at a slower speed. I would recommend putting the unit into the upright position at a slower pace in order to listen to the clicks that occur in order to troubleshoot the problem. One click will be the wheels of the vacuum going into place. The second click will be the wheels locking into place. It is important to ensure the second click occurs as without the second click, stabilizer wheels are not able to lock securely into place.

Now, the piece that covers the bottom has come off & went missing to make it an even worse process to clean. I also think it's way heavier then, they advertise it leaves my back in tons of pain after havin to always lift it to clean before and, after using it. I wanted a deep cleaning one for my kids and my allergies but, I have to deal with the allergies from it just to use it.
