I vacuumed with my old vacuum cleaner first and then with the Dyson and it pulled out 3 times the amount of dirt and lint the old one did. THIS THING IS AMAZING!!! TOTALLY WORTH THE MONEY and I am never going back to conventional vacuum cleaners. I recommend it, get one you will not be disappointed, now I am using it every other day.

And it’s AWFUL for stairs. With this machine not having a powered lift away option and the hose being extremely stiff, it’s almost impossible for stairs. My wife has fibromyalgia and she couldn’t use it. I had to walk behind her and keep slack on the hose because it was so stiff. Ultimately, we returned and bought a Shark DuoClean Powered LiftAway. I gave it 2 stars because in the small areas i was able to use it, it was a fantastic machine.

While I can confirm that the hose will be still upon initial use, we would essentially expect the hose to become more flexible with time and use. Dyson vacuums are engineered with versatility in mind and attachments may be used on either the wand or directly on the machine itself for added convenience. Would I have paid $500 for it? NO. Did I pay $289.99 for it? I did! Is that a good value? YES. This thing really "fluffs up" the carpet and has fantastic maneuverability. I don't think it's as heavy as some reviews make it out to be. About the same weight as the Bissell its replacing. I would recommend.

This machine does include a tool holder that attaches to the machine and it will hold 2 of the included tools, on board.
