IT WORKS GREAT FOR CARPET AND HARDWOOD OR NON CARPET FLOORS. I HAD A DYSON 15 YR OLD AND FINALLY UPDATED TO A NEW ONE. DYSON FOR LIFE! MY OLD ONE STILL WORKS BUT THE SUCTION IS NOT AS STRONG WHICH LED TO BUYING A NEWER ONE.

More tools available for purchase separately for detail cleaning assignments. Get what you pay for - it’s expensive but worth every penny.

I wouldn’t recommend this if you have thicker carpet cuz you can’t adjust the height as needed.

If I could return this without the box since Best Buy said no, I’m stuck with it and not happy at all with it.

I'm happy to inform you that Dyson does include instructions in the box with your machine outlining how to complete the minimal assembly required with your machine. We also offer a quick start card on the machine itself, as well as have quick start videos available on the Dyson website. We also do make ourselves available to assist if ever needed, including our helpline contact info directly on our machines.
Also, rest assured, Dyson machines are made from polycarbonate ABS, which is same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. They are tough, so we subject them to 50,000 hours of testing and 550 individual tests – all to ensure that they can withstand a lifetime’s hard use. Best Buy only allows 15 days to return & it has lapsed because I did not open the box to try right away. Suction is not as strong as my oreck.

Great suction!

I have the 5 year warranty, and recommend it! Con - I have one thick carpet I struggle to vacuum - its a push. Glides over the regular carpets and rugs. Not a deal breaker, will purchase again!

Very happy with this vacuum!

The one thing I don't like is there is no place on the body for the upholster brush. Other that that a nice piece of kit for you home cleaning needs.

There is a design flaw with inserting the tube back into the vaccume for regular use. If i didnt figure it out, it was going back to the store. But for 280$ off, i had to give it a good try. Even if it needs a "parlor" trick to work.

It's an ok vacuum. I mostly use the cordless Dyson for quick touchups and then this one for a full cleaning. It is kind of bulky. I think I prefer the Shark I have better but none of them work great.

Too much light plastic parts. For the price way too expensive. We had trouble with using the hose and machine turning off. We sent vacuum back.

Our Ball Animal offers the strongest suction among our line of upright machines, with features and tools that help to dig our dirt and animal hair from all surfaces of your home. With regard to the hose, I can confirm that we would essentially expect the hose to become more flexible with time and use. A few tips we can provide would be attaching your accessories directly to your hose, as this will also help expedite stretching the elasticity of the hose. Dyson vacuums are engineered with versatility in mind and attachments may be used on either the wand or directly on the machine itself for added convenience. Also, when stretching the hose out we would recommend starting by stretching the part of the hose that is nearest to the vacuum first when extending this part to clean your home. We would actually recommend checking to ensure the wand is not obstructed and that the hose is not sucking into itself as the hose is not something we would expect to be an issue during use.

It replaced my old huge dyson and this one maneuvers much better and easier. It does feel a little delicate but just don’t be careless with with.

The only thing I don’t like about it is the handle is not very secure. You barely touch it to use it and it releases from the stowed position. Not a big deal.

As well also it is way too heavy.

This new model feels cheaply produced compared to our old one. The cord is not as long, the wand is no longer user friendly. The canister is smaller, and does not seem to suck as well! I would not recommend the newer dyson!
