A MUST If You Have a "Shedder"
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum cleaner is a MUST if you have pets that shed. It's a workhorse that clears pet hair from every flooring surface without a trace, hardwood or carpet. No bags to purchase, empty the cartridge when full. No filters to replace, just remove, wash and put back into the machine. This is the second vacuum of this type that I have purchased. This one was a gift. My first, purchased 10 years ago is still going strong. Can't recommend more highly, you will not be disappointed with product quality or performance should you decide this is the machine for you.

If you’re thinking about it just buy it!
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best vaccume I ever had. I have a dog and he has very long hair, he dosent shed a whole lot but his hair is very thick so I needed a good vaccine. You don’t have to continually vaccume the same spot it sucks up immediately and is very light in weight in comparison to other dysons.

Awsome, could be sturdier
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Vaccumed the house with our old vaccum right before using this for the first time, it FILLED with sand, dirt and hair, clearly this thing has power where others don't. My only gripe is a lot of very important parts of this vacuum are plastic, there's a little latch that holds both half's of the vacuum together, and even that is plastic, they should go with metal or thick aluminum. oh and they could make the arm attachment tube better, if you try using it for something very close to the vacuum u will probably tip it over, its not very bendy at close range.

Amazing!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My previous vacuum was a Kenmore and it was highly rated. We have dogs, 2 large boxers and they shed a lot. We needed a better vacuum so I waited for this to be a deal of the day and took the plunge. I paid $250 which is a great deal for this model. It is amazing. I had vacuumed 2 days before it arrived and will post the picture from when I vacuumed with it when it arrived. It has pulled so much dust and hair out of the carpet, The kitchen floor is wood and it works well on that. I vacuumed the stairs and the hand tools worked great picking up a lot of dirt, hair and debris. I will always go Dyson and recommend this brand from here on out. This is the best.

Great Vaccum For Animal Lovers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have an 85lb Shepard mix and are constantly picking up hair around the house. We have an earlier Dyson as well as a more recent cordless version. I saw this Dyson show up as a Deal of the Day and elected to give it a try. I am very impressed with how well this updated version works. It seems to have much better suction than my early, non-Animal version. It also has a smaller overall footprint, so that storage is easier. Lastly, this Dyson appears to be quieter than my others. I would definitely purchase again.

Best vacuum in the market
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This my second Dyson Vacuum and I have to say they make the best vacuum in the market. No suction loss and it is easy to use. My last dyson lasted for 6 years so I'm hoping this is last that long as well.

Plastic parts break easily- don’t buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unfortunately this vacuum is not worthy of the money but to be balanced I’ll share some positives. The suction is powerful and the attachments are spectacular. It sucks up all the dry debris and feathers from a very dusty parrot with ease. Unfortunately it has numerous plastic parts and literally a week and a half after purchase, one small but important piece( a small red semi circle) cracked and broke. As a result, the vacuum can’t be reclined and used as a vacuum. The attachments work when connected directly to the hose but somehow the suction is lost when you attach a brush, as an example, to the extension pole. The hose is also very stiff and can be difficult to stretch out unless you’re Superman. I could live with the stiff extension pole but given that an intrinsic piece cracked in half shortly after purchase, I have no doubt other intrinsic plastic parts will also break given time. I have now read negative reviews complaining about the the breakage of plastic parts. It’s real, the parts are brittle and prone to breakage. For the price, I expect a vacuum to last a couple of years. Save your money and buy the Miele or another non plastic dependent product

Posted .Hello Kath, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to share your review of the Dyson Ball Animal upright. We're glad to hear that initially, you were so impressed with the suction this machine provides (270 air watts). This is one of our most powerful uprights and provides great suction for homes with pets.
We're sorry to hear that so soon after your initial usage, a part broke from your machine. Dyson machines are made from polycarbonate ABS, which is same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. They are tough, so we subject them to 50,000 hours of testing and 550 individual tests – all to ensure that they can withstand a lifetime’s hard use. You may view a short on some of the testing process here: http://bit.ly/1HmQ7p8
With regard to the hose, I can confirm that we would essentially expect the hose to become more flexible with time and use. A few tips we can provide would be attaching your accessories directly to your hose, as this will also help expedite stretching the elasticity of the hose. Dyson vacuums are engineered with versatility in mind and attachments may be used on either the wand or directly on the machine itself for added convenience. Also, when stretching the hose out we would recommend starting by stretching the part of the hose that is nearest to the vacuum first when extending this part to clean your home. We would actually recommend checking to ensure the wand is not obstructed and that the hose is not sucking into itself as the hose is not something we would expect to be an issue during use.
While we don't expect issues to occur, Dyson does back your new machine from an authorized retailer with a free 5-year guarantee. We would value the opportunity to assist you, to help ensure your Dyson is working properly. Please feel free to contact us directly at askdysonUS@dyson.com. We are keen on providing you with support and learning more about your experience.
Best wishes,
Kelly

Disappointing Dyson
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this vacuum 18 months with no issues and it finally stopped working. Vacuuming under the couch (wood floors) I got a clog in the hose. Easy to clear but afterwards vacuum would not turn on. Checked all hoses, filters, and cleaned everything, still doesn't work. Suspect a switch in the ball area where it switches from upright to reclined position needed for cleaning. I’m a fan of Dyson vacuums, but this is the second Dyson vacuum needing repair and it is a waste of my time to have to send away to get it fixed. Disappointing considering the amount of $$$ these Dysons cosr. I’ll buy a new vacuum and choose not to buy another Dyson model.

Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. It sounds like you may have experienced a thermal cutout with your machine. In the instance of a blockage or clog, the machine's motor will automatically cut out, to prevent the machine from overheating, and causing damage to the motor. We would be very happy to help further troubleshoot the issue with you. Please consider getting in touch with us directly at askdysonUS@dyson.com.

Happy Human and Dog Mom!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have gone through countless vacuums. You know, the cheap ones you can get for less than $50 for my apartments. Well, my mom bought a Dyson for her home and I liked it. I just never thought the performance justified the price. Well, fast forward a few years and here I am, the proud and happy owner of a Dyson! I had a child, bought a home (unfortunately) with carpet, and adopted a puppy. I saw this particular Dyson (Ball Animal) and decided to purchase it. This vacuum is nothing short of amazing. I am always disgusted and relieved after vacuuming. It picks up so much dirt and hair it's literally unbelievable. I was unaware our little pup was shedding so much and that we were all bringing in so much dirt. I now wonder how any dirt is actually outside..... The vacuum is lightweight, easy to maneuver the cord is long, the suction and power are beyond belief, and for it to be so powerful it really is a quiet vacuum. I also use it on my hardwood floors as well. Another thing I really love about this vacuum is that does not leave a scent behind. With previous vacuums (especially vacuums with bags) I could always smell the vacuum. It was not an unpleasant smell, but still a smell that said: "Yep, I just vacuumed!" With this vacuum, the only indication of me vacuuming would be the vacuum lines. I've also noticed how much my son's allergies have improved since I began using this vacuum. Allergy days are few and far between now and he is using far less allergy medication. Of course, using less medicine saves money but it also makes you feel better to know you are pumping less medicine into your child. Invest in this vacuum and you will not be disappointed!!

This vacuum truly sucks! But, that's good!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned a Dyson vacuum for many years and was always very happy with the way it performed. Our old one finally began to show its age so it had to be replaced. I'm happy to say we are not disappointed with this newer version. It eats up everything and pet hair is no issue for it. Cleaning the canister is a breeze and, as expected from a Dyson product, the suction is it's high point. As advertised, it doesn't lose suction and keeps trucking along. We're very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it.

This SUCKs !
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is our second Dyson and this vacuum really sucks in a good way. We have dogs and the Lab & Golden’s fur gets everywhere but the big chamber holds a whole house worth. A single pass gets everything including dirt from the yard. The wide brush digs into the carpet to truly clean from the fibers. The handheld wand/brush is great for stairs. Definitely worth to cost (on sale due to early model). We also use this in the shop for sawdust and Metal shavings stuck to the carpet. I bet this would such the Chrome off a bumper given the chance. Love it !!
