Amazing Power & Flexibility

My husband is the one who generally gets excited about vacuums, this is the first time that we've both used any Dyson model at all, but I'm glad we did. When thinking about what you want to accomplish with a vacuum, it's really simple. You want it to WORK for you. You want spotless floors. The Dyson Ball has that. The suction power is extremely noticeable. After using it on our rugs, it not only sucked every bit of visible dirt and cat hair up, but it left them noticeably refreshed. The suction power gave our rugs an overall better look which I wasn't expecting. The next feature that I loved was how flexible it is. The base itself swivels and essentially contorts to fit where you need it and takes corners like a serious pro. I'd say it's the most flexible full sized vacuum that I've ever used. Other notables about this model are the tool attachments. To date I've used variations of them to vacuum my living room furniture, bedroom mattress and even high ledges and corners of our ceilings that we otherwise wouldn't be able to reach without a ladder. Lastly, the cord length and the length of the wand are really long making it really convenient to get the job done without having to relocate the vacuum much.

Probably Defective

Amazing vacuum, worth every penny!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We are large family that’s made up of 5 children, 2 dogs, a rabbit, and 17 chickens (all who firmly believe they belong in the house rather than out!), finding a vacuum to withstand us has always been challenging. Most vacuums can withstand us for about a month and then they slowly start to go downhill mainly with suction. This vacuum however has withstood all the feathers, glitter, fur, play-doh, hair, beads, and chicken crumbles like a boss. This vacuum does not care one way or the other on your type of floors. It can easily switch between carpet and hard floors which is another plus in my book as we have carpet, stone tile, and wood flooring. It doesn’t leave scratches behind either. The cord is about 35 feet long so you no longer have to keep moving the cord around the room! The wand is amazing and the easy to store right in the handle vs other brands that just loop over the handle. No more having to have a stretched out floppy hose getting in the way in the middle of vacuuming. The Dyson Ball Animal glides great and is easy for kids to maneuver so they can help out! Disclosure: While I received a Dyson Ball Animal in exchange for a review all opinions are 100% my own.

Broken after 3 months

The brush will no longer spin. I looked into some videos online and it may be a switch issue. The vacuum itself feels very bulky and uncomfortable. When you try to stand it upright, the handle doesn't lock in place most of the time and if you walk away then the whole thing falls to the floor... I can see this is not a very well thought out product.

Posted .Hi Omar, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that after just a few months of use, your Ball Animal vacuum broke. It's very unusual to hear that this has occurred, as well as disappointing. With regard to your machine standing upright, there will generally be two clicks that you should get when putting the vacuum into the upright position. These clicks are not always noticeable unless put into the upright position at a slower speed. I would recommend putting the unit into the upright position at a slower pace in order to listen to the clicks that occur in order to troubleshoot the problem. One click will be the wheels of the vacuum going into place. The second click will be the wheels locking into place. It is important to ensure the second click occurs as without the second click, stabilizer wheels are not able to lock securely into place.

Strong Suction!

We vacuumed my home with our current vacuum and then went back over it with the brand new Dyson and I couldn't believe the amount of dirt it picked up that had been left behind! I also love the legnth of the extension hose. I can easily reach everything I need to in the room without moving the vacuum base. My only complaint is that there are two attachments that have no storage on the vacuum, so we need to store them in the closet. It is a tad heavy but that to me is not an issue-we have a 1-story home. Overall this is an amazing vacuum that is steps above the competition! *I received this vacuum for review purposes but all opinons are my own.

Great product minus BAD hose AND GSP SRVC WARTY

Only drawback is the hose and how it extends, awkwardly. My recent visit was not great with Best Buy as they did not honor their GSP Replacement warranty when it was determined unrepairable. They gave me store credit but was 50% of the current price since their system would not pull the actual item up when it was available online. Instead, the system rung up with "comparable" item half the value. I was not asked if I'd like to keep my vacuum or to receive store credit for it. I was handed the gift card and was told to put it towards a replacement. When then store credit was given, i did not think of how much the same one would be but when i was going to put it towards the replacement a day later, i was shocked that they failed to give me the amount to cover the replacement. When i went to to the store to ask why the store credit for a replacement cant cover the identical item, they could not give me an answer except a comment on this warranty should not even be valid and that I'm lucky. I explained that their GSP warranty has changed over the years and the system extended it with the change. 2 hours while management were doing their research, i find that this item was no longer available to buy online.

Awesome Vaccuum Cleaner
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been going through a new vaccuum cleaner every 1 I've purchased has lasted at best a year before having trouble. And first signs of trouble within the first month I had a Shark Rocket prior to purchasing my Dyson Ball and I absolutely Love this vaccuum cleaner. And with 4 kids and the everyday messes it brings this vaccuum cleaner has been worth every penny we spent on it. And I gotta say the 5 year Dyson Warranty sold me also on it just knowing if anything does go wrong that they will fix it or replace it takes a huge burden off of me. It's also great for our allergies I found myself vaccumming my whole house twice in the first 2 days and the amount of dust in the canister was ureal. Just peace of mind knowing my kids are in a healthier home makes me feel like Super Mom again.

Cheap plastic pieces that don’t attach well. Suction is terrible and doesn’t do well sucking up larger debris. I have to run my old vacuum to pick up larger pieces most of the time. Stay away. Not sure why bestbuy even sells this terrible machine and overpriced

Not working correctly

Its hard to push and the spinner is not working. I noticed on Best Buys website this product is no longer returnable. I purchased it in February and now its the middle of May.

The Ball Animal features Dyson ball technology, which allows for easy navigation with the turn of a wrist. Dyson Ball Works Great

I've received many vacuums over the years and consider the Dyson to be an excellent vacuum. It pulls up a lot of hairs and dirt that one of my other vacuums leaves behind. I have another vacuum though that I prefer over this one because I couldn't figure out the attachments on the Dyson without getting out the manual. After using it and exploring the attachments I love it. I recommend it because Dyson has a reputation for lasting and it works really well. The vacuum is easy to push around and it's not very heavy so taking it up and downstairs is pretty easy. I wish all the attachments would fit on the vacuum itself but we do have a bin that we keep the attachments in so it's not that big of a deal.

Not reliable for the price tag.

Don’t buy

I haven’t had it a year and it’s been sent back 3 times for repairs due to burning smell. I now use it on an area rug only and still ends up having same issues….. i have two dogs and will NEVER buy it recommended this to ANYONE!!!

For those who love to vacuum

It allows you to do it for far longer than you should need to because it moves pet hair back and forth across the carpet so you can go over and over again to try and get it.

Waste of money

Bye-bye dog hair

I received this vacuum today....it is a LIFE CHANGER! seriously you’ll never feel more relieved in your life watching all of the gunk and dog hair disappear off your carpet like nothing!. I’m not sure about these negative reviews- maybe they haven’t sat there for an hour with the hand piece of the vacuum (after regular vacuuming) trying to get better suction so to get the rest of the million dog hairs still stuck, off the carpet. Yes the suction is strong, as it should be- the quickest and best vacuuming experience just happened to me today. I am so happy to have this vacuum in my household. No more dog hairs on the bottom of my Socks!! -thank you Dyson

Awesome Vacuum!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to work in hotels in college, so I have a LOT of experience with vacuums. This Dyson is AWESOME! I love it. I so enjoy seeing all the tiny particles it picks up to keep my family free of pollen, mold and bacteria - not to mention pet dander, fur and hair! My carpets haven't been cleaner and I adore my new vacuum!
