This is absolutely the worst vacuum I have ever owned! Do not qaste your money!!!! It will not pick up anything.

I was given the Dyson Ball Animal to review on my blog About a Mom. I have owned a lot of different vacuums over the years, and can say without hesitation that this one is far superior. With 2 very furry dogs and teens, I appreciate the great suction and many attachments that come with this vacuum. There is even one that is perfect for cleaning pet beds. I have some physical disabilities and don’t have any problem using this vacuum, because it is lightweight and pivots effortlessly. My home has wood floors with a lot of area rugs. the Dyson Ball Animal moves seamlessly over each surface. It’s nice having one vacuum that does it all. The Ball Animal is truly a pet owner’s dream vacuum.

I have always wanted to purchase a Dyson vacuum cleaner! I have read great reviews and Dyson products just look interesting all together! I finally broke down and purchased this expensive Dyson product. Ive always been a Shark user. Mainly bc they are cheaper and still get the job done. So to say i was thrilled to pick up my Dyson would be an under statement! We have 4 dogs, 2 kids, 2 sets of stairs, carpet, rugs and hardwood floors. So I needed a vacuum cleaner that was versatile. I thought this was going to be the one! My first impression was that it was extremely heavy but i was totally fine with that bc I had read that it would be easy to maneuver bc it had the ball. It was not at all easy to turn! The handle went from side to side very easily but the actual head/roller would not turn when i moved the handle from side to side! I had to basically force the head/roller to turn and when i did it slid on the hardwood instead of rolled easily. Still trying to be optimistic i went to the stairs and thought this will do great! The hose is extremely long and the cord is extremely long so vacuuming the steps is going to be easier than ever! NOPE! I was let down again. Having 4 dogs that shed ALOT, the fur collects on each step so i have to vacuum often. My steps are hardwood with Deans carpet tread on each step. With and without the attachment the Dyson did not pick the hair up very well. On top of that the vacuum cleaner base kept falling over at the bottom of the step. The hose kept twisting up even though i had only walked straight up a few steps. Having this extremely long hose was useless if i can't use it on the stairs without fighting it from twisting and base falling over! At this point Im not impressed but Im thinking maybe i was doing something wrong. I read the manual again and read the description on Best Buy and Dyson website. I read every Q&A and review. Still trying to be optimistic. I tried once again on the hardwood and still it does not turn without force. The only thing i can say good about this vacuum cleaner is that the cord is very long and that helps when vacuum multiple rooms. Every other quality that this Dyson vacuum was supposed to have was a let down. At one point i thought, Dyson was the best but just too expensive for me to ever own one. Now either Dyson isn't so great after all or I have a defective vacuum cleaner and the ball does work properly. Is that possible? Should i just stick to Shark? Should i return it and try another Dyson vacuum??

Doesn’t vacuum our carpets, only the hard wood floors!!

I had an older generation Dyson that did a very good job, but the animal does even better! Larger auto adjusting power head and longer chord are all additional pluses. I was very happy with this purchase of my second Dyson and it was also on sale for $100 less.

After receiving this vacuum cleaner five days late, my husband and I were super excited to use it. It took about 10 minutes to assemble it and figure out how to get it going. This machine pretty much confirmed that we've wasted our money, time, and energy on the other vacuums we've previously owned. It's very powerful and the ball really makes it easy to maneuver. I can't believe all the dirt and dog fur it picked up. Or maybe I can. LOL This was a great buy. We caught it on sale for $249 and we had a $50 Best Buy gift card.

This is a really good vacuum cleaner and I sets it self to the height of the carpet. It picks up a lot of the dirt in your carpet. The bad thing that I don’t like about it is it’s hard to push. I have back problems and I can only do a couple of the carpets before I have to set down and rest my back before I can do any more.

I was given a Dyson Ball Animal to review on my blog GoodEnoughMother.com. Now I am familiar with the Dyson brand; our previous vacuum is a Dyson and we've had it for years. But this was a completely different animal (yeah, pun intended). Things I loved: Seems 50% lighter than our current Animal model…easier to carry and operate "It's all about the ball"…the ball pivots the vacuum head effortlessly Great suction… The beater bar (which can be switched off for bare floors) is so strong that you can see the carpet vibrating in front of the machine! Nice complement of tools for upholstery, tight spaces, cars, etc. Animal hair doesn't have a chance…the transparent tank shows it… Tank is easy to remove and empty.

Splendid machine!! Not too heavy for me being a senior citizen and includes a generous length of cord. Emptying the clear dust canister is a snap!! Thank you for this vac, the last I'll ever need : ) Connie Umbenhower

The engineering for this vacuum is top notch. It simply sucks down onto the surface, pulls up just about everything and just keeps going. I did a full vacuum in my living room when I received it, first with my robotic vac, then with this Dyson. The robo-vac is great, but I ran the Dyson over the living room after and it picked up at least as much as the robo-vac had in the first run-through. Three days later, I did a slow, methodical vacuuming with the forward push and backward pull covering the same path. The Dyson just surprised me with what it can do.

This is my new favorite toy! I have 2 large dogs in my home and they leave hair everywhere they go. The vacuum I was using before was picking it up, but I had no idea how much hair it was leaving behind until I started using the Dyson Ball Animal. My floors have never been cleaner. This vacuum is great for a household with carpet, tile or wood. It can go on both and self adjusts. I think that's my favorite part! It moves very easy over carpet. The canister is easy to dump, so you don't have to worry about getting messy or leaving a trail on your way to the trash can! I am a big fan of this vacuum!

I bought this because I have a lot of dog hair, and it does a very good job of picking up the hair it can reach. It is very heavy, however, and there is a bump on it that keeps it from going far enough under furniture, where much of the dog hair migrates.

This vacuum is the best one I have ever used the only issue I have is the price. If it was more comparable to the other vacs in the price it would be five stars.

This latest version of Dyson is just as good as the second. The only drawback is that it tips over more easily and more frequently if I don't be careful. Other than that, it sucks and that's a good thing! The manual is in very simple graphics too!

Purchased on a sale, and couldn't be happier. Very easy to assemble, came with good factory warranty, and has terrific suction power both at the head and with the included attachments. Would definitely recommend if on sale again.

Super strong suction though the design is something to get used to. We had a problem with the motor from the get-go, but Dyson had it repaired and sent back quickly (within a week). Happy with both the vacuum, Best Buy, and Dyson experience.

Love the way the collection barrel comes off the vacuum. Not having to adjust to different heights is great. Picks up a lot, used it right after using the old Kenmore (I loved) and couldn’t believe how much was collected. Two negatives: don’t like the way it stands up and releases down, would like a lever or something; wish accessories had same connection as my Dyson battery powered stick (diameter essentially the same yet different connectors).

recently got 2 kittens and had forgotten how messy the litter gets, this vacuum is incredible at picking up litter, cat hair, and dirt around the house. seriously worth the money, especially with the extensions.
