    Burning odor after only 3 weeks of use

    Brand new purchase 1/12/2022. First two weeks great, loved it. 3rd week began to small burning odor. Internet searches reveal common problem with this dyson ball animal model.. We have a dog. Turns out that long dog hair gets built up in the internal mechanism that spins and causes it to heat up. Had to return it. Very disappointed... would love to hear what Dyson has to say about a brand new Ball "Animal" vacuum after only 2 weeks of use, starts to emit a burning odor. Trying the Ball Animal "2" and will see if it has the same problem or not. If it does, will NEVER purchase Dyson again.

    Needs to be repaired

    I've had this vacuum for over a year. It does not turn or maneuver well. It clogs. it its broken. The gasket in the ball is stretched out and it is very hard to push. The first Animal I have is at my cabin and does great. This purple one is horrible. Way over priced for what I got.

    Very Disappointing

    I had heard nothing but good thing about Dyson so finally bought this one for myself. I haven't even had it a year and it has totally lost suction. I am in talks with the warranty team but it is such a fiasco, I'm ready to just throw it away.

    I will never buy another dyson again. Mine was totally rebuilt after about 3 years. The unit never stays upright when using the hose. Save yourself a bunch of money and buy a Shark ZeroM. Way better vacuum cleaner than the dyson and way cheaper!

    Dyson may not want Best Buy to sell their products

    I posted a review a week ago but it doesn't seem to have made it. Probably because it slammed Best Buy and not Dyson. So, I'll try it again. I've had this same vacuum for about 4 years and we love it. We started to have some issues with parts breaking so we decided to purchase a new one. Since we use it very heavily, we were happy to get four years out of it. Received the "new" one in two days and opened the box to find a heavily used vacuum!! The hoses and intakes were full of dirt, fur, etc. The ball on our used one looked in better shape than the "new" one after being banged off of walls for 4 years. There wasn't even the usual instruction book and warranty info in the box. It appeared as though someone took a very well used vacuum and simply wrapped it in bubble wrap and put it back in a box to sell as new. When I called Best Buy, my call was answered by someone obviously not in the United States. When I explained why I was calling the response I received through the very heavy accent was "Sometimes this happens"!!!! Huh!!!! I took it back to the nearest Best Buy store and I opened the box. The clerk responded with "Oh my God" when she looked at it. When I told her that I was told sometimes this happens she responded with "That should never happen." She promptly refunded my money since they did not have any in the store so I was happy for that. My reason for this review is to let everyone know that if you want this vacuum, purchase it in the store and not online so you know that you are receiving a new vacuum.

    Nothing special other than price. Feels cheap & clumsy. Many other vacuums with half of that price can get job done exactly the same.

      Hello Fransis, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Ball Animal was engineered for homes with pets, with features that dig out dirt, hair and allergens. Dyson Ball Animal features the strongest suction among our uprights - 270 air watts, for tough tasks across all floors. The Dyson Ball Animal has also been certified to be asthma and allergy friendly, along with having whole-machine HEPA filtration.

      Also, rest assured, Dyson machines are made from polycarbonate ABS, which is same material used in riot shields and crash helmets.     Poor quality for price

    In 3 years with very limited use, the motor has failed. While it was working, the vacuum performed well on the carpets. The attachment cleaning was never very effective, particularly on upholstory type surfaces.I was disappointed such an expensive machine did not last longer.

    Brand new after 2 weeks burning odor began!

    Purchased 1/11/2022 and loved it for the first 2 weeks. Then we started smelling an electrical/rubber burning odor when using it. This is a brand new supposedly high quality Dyson brand! Well, we returned it. After doing some google searches, we discovered we weren’t alone as others complained of the same exact burning odor problem. Very disappointed.

    Too much for too little

    This vacuum lasted for only two cleanings…..one cleaning of a Persian rug and one cleaning of a marble floor. It still runs, but will not pick up any debris, not matter what size. I should have known better than to purchase it as I had bought one years ago, but thought they had improved on the design. Very disappointing.

    Save your money!

    Awful for high pile carpets. You literally cannot vacuum any room unless it is bare floor or very low pile carpet. Extension wand is awkward and is stiff and hard to detach to use attachments.
