We bought this "Animal" as it was on a deep sale and a piece broke on our old Dyson DC 25. This is much more powerful, easier to maneuver and seems to be a little lighter. The flexible extension should be much easier to use than the old one, as well.

Easy to move across carpet! The vacuum sure made my old carpet look a lot newer!! It adjusts easily to different carpet heights and when the brush is activated it basically "pulls" itself across the carpet. So - while the vacuum is "heavy" - once turned on it is not hard to move around. However, I have a large (almost room sized) area rug that is a thick, but short, pile and it won't move across it - even if the beater is disengaged. The pull is so strong it pulls up at the carpet - I have to lay the vacuum back so the head comes just slightly off the floor and then push it. I am going to try and use one of the attachments on the area rug, but have not yet tried it. I have used several of the attachments - once you change from upright to tools a few times it's easy. Yes the hose can pull the machine over - but if you pull the house out (extend it) before going after whatever you've put the attachment on for - I've only pulled the vacuum over once - and that's because I was pretty far away & didn't realize it. Easy to clean cannister but I now take it outside to empty it as there was a lot of fine dust that whooshed out when I emptied it in the kitchen trash. I have not yet washed the filters - which say to wash once per month. I love this vacuum and hope it lasts for YEARS AND YEARS!

I love this vacuum it is so ease to use and it picks up a lot of hair.

It works fine now, we'll see how it is in 6-8 years. For a vacuum that expensive I expect a lot. It seems to do the hard floors fairly well. It can't seem to pick up the hay, but that is because it is so suctioned to the floor I think. If you lift it a bit it will suck it up. It doesn't do well with fallen leaves if you suck them up through the normal vacuum part, they get stuck in the base. If you use the wand it seems fine. It does pick up a lot more hair and dirt than my previous vacuum did, however it was quite old and I paid much less for that one.

Overall I love this vacuum- it is powerful! However, for the price there are a few flaws: 1. it doesn't easily click into upright position and can therefore fall over 2. attachments don't stay put/fall off easily while vacuuming 3. there are extra attachments that have no where to be put on the vacuum and therefore have to be stored somewhere (making it highly likely to never be used and they also don't look so useful in general) 4. some outlets surge when you plug in the vacuum so I have to be careful which outlets I use or it trips the breaker

I am really happy with this vacuum. After using a canister vacuum for years and years, I am thrilled with this bag-less machine. It is easy to use, very maneuverable, and easy to empty. My only complaint is that the wand is not easy or convenient to use, and there is not a place for all the attachments on the machine, so I have to keep some of the attachements in the closet, which is a minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience nonetheless.

This is the best vacuum that I have ever owned. Great suction. Easy to empty.

Purchased to pick up my dogs hair. It picks up everything and little effort. Great size too for minimal passes.

This vacuum has plenty of suctioning power and is easy to use around furniture.

Our old vacuum died and looked for a replacement. We have carpet in the basement and hardwoods and rugs throughout the house so needed a vacuum good for all floors. This one fits the bill. Very versatile and light enough to carry up and down the steps. The design of the hose extension makes reaching high areas and cleaning stairs very easy. Only downside I'd say is sometimes the front will go into ball mode when you don't want it to, but it's worth it!

This vacuum is incredible! I was looking for an overall great vacuum and looked into both this one and the Dyson V8 Cordless. After buying the "Animal", I realize the V8 would have not done the job with our thick carpet. The first time I used this vacuum, I spent 45 minutes going over and over the carpet and I could actually see and smell the difference. Our carpet looks new again and it smelled so fresh. My only regret is that I didn't buy this sooner.

What can I say..... The name speaks for itself. This is not my first Dyson nor will it be my last. Excellent vacuum with great suction for multiple surfaces. This vacuum is easy to use. It also comes with great attachments.
