This is the BEST vacuum I have ever purchased. I always used to buy cheaper Bisel vacuums. I wouldn’t spend more than $50 or $60 dollars on one. When my last Bisel died, my friend recommended a Dyson. She raved about how well it worked. I admit, my interest was peaked so I started looking around. I found this one. After a lot of reading and research, I decided to purchase it. I must say, this has been totally with the price. This vacuum is super powerful. There are three people that live in my home, all adults, and no pets, and the amount of dirt and dust that this thing pulled from our carpets was astounding. Our carpets felt different after. I have now fully been converted to Dyson. Set up was easy, handling is easy, and cleaning is easy! I love this vacuum!!

I’m a big fan of this vacuum but it does have its flaws. It works really well on carpet but struggles a bit on hard floors. The long hose is awesome but the vacuum tends to fall over when you pull the hose.

This is a fantastic vacuum. It was easy to assemble and easier to use. We have mostly carpet and hardwood in our home with dogs that shed a lot. This vacuum does a beautiful job sucking fur and other debris off all types of surfaces. Cleaning and maintenance is incredibly easy and the power cord is quite long so you can clean a large surface area without having to move the plug.

Having two German Shepherds I was skeptical about the claims and how well it worked. As I have always owned cheaper vacuums I wasn't truly sold on it. I can honestly tell you its absolutely worth it. These two shed like crazy and this vacuum has what it takes to keep up with them. I'm always amazed when I vacuum just how much is picked up. Its easy to use, works great on solid surfaces as well as carpet. Couldn't be happier with this purchase. I would highly recommend this vacuum to anyone with pets.

    Great vacuum with one annoyance

The vacuum has great suction (as most Dysons do), but there is one annoyance...at least for me. I had an older Dyson animal (not the ball version), but it was about 12 years old and figured time for a new one...plus my parents could use my old Dyson. One thing I prefer on the old Dyson over this Dyson Ball is it was easier to use the wand on the old Dyson as you just pulled it up and slid it back in when finished. On this new version, you have to push the button so the wand would go back down. Not a big deal of course, but it is worth noting if you were comparing to a different Dyson that didn't have the button. As for the annoyance, it is when you stand it back up when done with it. You push up, or forward, for it to lock in place so it will stand up and even though you hear a click like it locked into place, it doesn't always stay up. Gets annoying when it falls back down instead of staying up. You have to push it up or forward pretty far even after you hear the click for it to lock into place and actually stay upright. Not sure if it is just my unit or if it is all Dyson Animal Ball vacuums, but it is annoying for sure. Due to the price (got it on a super black Friday sale), I've learned to deal with it. If I had paid full price (e.g. $450-$500+), I would have returned it in an instant. Almost want to rate it 3 stars due to the annoyance, but the vacuum has so many other good things going for it such as the suction, long cord, wand, etc. that it is definitely worth 4 stars. Plus it could be I have a defective unit and probably should have returned it just to see. If it weren't for the annoyance though, a definite 5 star vacuum.

Never thought I would purchase a Dyson vacuum but boy am I glad I did. Got tired of vacuums not doing what they claimed! Sooo I figured I had nothing to loose. Best vacuum I’ve ever purchased. Picks up way better than the other vacuums I’ve bought. We have 2 dogs and one sheds constantly. When we used the previous vacuums the smell of dog was always in the vacuum unless I regularly disassembled it and washed it after each use. I don’t have that problem with the Dyson. I just clean the filters after a couple of uses and no dog smell. It auto adjust for the carpet height. Easy to push. It’s the best vacuum so far. It even beats the Kirby I have in the basement collecting dust. Plenty of attachments and a long hose.

Hands down the best vacuum I've ever owned. This thing has always been out of my price range. But just as my old one broke this went on sale, so I scooped it up. This vacuum at $250 is beyond a good deal. It's actually an extremely simple decision and one you will not regret. It's a tad tricky to see how things get put together but once you see how it's supposed to be assembled. You might be like me and say how the heck did I not see this. It's the easiest and most fluid vacuum with unbelievable power to get things up off the floor, carpet whatever. The self adjusting head that rises and drops, on the fly, going from shag rug to hard floor to carpet. All the while adjusting to the exact height without having to manually adjust it like every other one I've had. With a simple turn of the wrist this vacuum turns on a dime. It runs along running boards amazingly and gets almost everything out of the areas that were still filthy with my old vacuum. The stairs is also as easy as ever with the extend poll and no more having to navigate a big vacuum while going up the stairs. After more than a month I can honestly say Dyson makes the best vacation on the market today. God Bless

    Works Well on Dog Hair

We have been a fan of Dyson vacuums for a loooong time. Somewhere along the line we decided to try a different brand... it didn't take long for us to retire that one and go back to a Dyson. Aside from the suction - which is second-to-none - it is easy to use, with onboard tools and its retractable wand design. It definitely does a better job picking up dog hair from our Great Dane (and her doggy friends that visit frequently). Dysons are a little pricey, but worth it - if you have sticker shock at the price, wait for a sale or coupon to buy (that's what we did). And - it is definitely more cost-effective than buying a lesser machine that you have to quickly replace.

The Dyson Ball Animal Upright has a lot of power and is very use friendly. I was able to assemble it in less than ten minutes. I like the handle mechanism that makes it easy to stand upright the cleaner when finished. It has done an excellent job cleaning carpet as well as tile floors. This is my first Dyson and I highly recommend.

I resisted buying a new vacuum for a long time; my house has primarily hard wood, and it seemed silly. But I have 5 area rugs, carpeted step pads on my staircase, and two fuzzy dogs. Before the Dyson, vacuuming the rugs meant first sweeping the rugs with a broom, then passing over with the vacuum, then getting out the hose attachment and detailing the entire rug by hand, then passing over again, and possibly repeating. This was with a 13 year old Bissell that cost $100 in 2007. Now, I take out the Dyson, I turn it on, turn the brush A pass or two with the regular brush on, and after a week of fur, and it's done. Two weeks and its done. The hose extends almost all the way up my stairs to use the stair tool, and the suction is so powerful it has shown me how many of my carpet treads are loose. It's somewhat more quiet than my old machine. The bine could be larger, and the unit is itself a bit heavy--I'm not sure my grandmother could lug this thing up steps--but this thing just SUCKS. Which means it's awesome. I got it on a 50% off, and it was a splurge, but I am SO HAPPY.

I've owned this vacuum for a few years, and I'm very pleased with it. The suction is perhaps too strong, as it's a struggle to move across my rugs. I suppose that's a good thing! I'm very happy with how clean it gets my floors, with no hassles or problems. Emptying the debris canister is easy and mess-free (as long as you're careful,) and cleaning/replacing the filters is easy. The extension wand stretches to become quite long if needed. My only complaint is that it's a bit heavy and bulky when not being used to vacuum.

With a German Shepherd and 3 cats I needed a device that was powerful enough to pull all the furry friends hair from the carpet. This device did the job and I loved the option of the crevice attachments. The cord is extra long which was a pleasant surprise and the device is easy to handle up and down stairs.

Does the job as described. Got this for 299 on a special offer. Very Happy with the product. Easy to assemble and operate. Was afraid might be heavy on arthritic hands, but no issue at all. Cleans better than other products tried before. Helps with the allergies. Longer cord helps to vacuum even inside bedroom while plugged from living room inside 800 sq condo!

Excellent vacuum. Works on both hardwoods and deep pile carpet. Easy to dump the canister right in the garbage when filled. Tools are easy to connect to the hose and the cord is very long and does not require an extension cord when using on the entire first floor.

I’m a hige Dyson fan. Sure it’s a bit pricey, but it’s totally worth it! One year I finally decided to break down and purchase a Dyson. I was not disappointed! I’ve been a Dyson owner since. You definitely get what you pay for. This vacuum is great for my 3 story home. Gets everything and comes with the attachments needed. (I have a cordless Dyson too, but that’s better for spot cleaning in my opinion. Can’t beat the corded vacuum for those deep clean days. Love my Dyson!

I Love, love my new Dyson vacuum cleaner. I have wanted one for years but because of the price could never seem to get one. I love that Best Buy has these daily deals and I caught it on sale for a good price. I look at this vacuum cleaner as the Mercedes of vacuum cleaners. The only con I have with this vacuum cleaner is I wish it was made out of sturdier material. It feels a little flimsy as though it’s going to break and it’s heavy but it vacuums great.
