My old one was well over 10 years old. I looked at various other makes on the market now, but nothing seemed to compare with the Animal I had been using for all those years and had received such great service from the vacuum cleaner and from Dyson service. Nothing is better than something you can depend on. I’m extremely happy with my new Dyson Animal.

Squeaky

It makes my 13 year old carpet Look new. However, It made a terrible squeaking noise while I was vacuuming. I returned it and got a second one and it’s doing the same thing. Its too expensive to sound like this or need some sort of troubleshooting out of the box. I guess I need to find a different brand. So disappointed...

Having a squeaking noise coming from the machine could come from one of two places; either the axle and wheels on the soleplate or from the stabilizer wheels. I dislike the ball gets hot and it’s very loud. I also dislike the way it releases. You have to jerk the handle. I am thinking about calling Dyson to get my money back.

The ball should not get too warm, or even hot to the touch while the machine is in use. You will feel warmth from this area of the machine, as the motor and its components do sit so close to the floor. The changes that have been made took a minute to figure out, but this is just as good! Gotta live a a Dyson. I would not use another vacuum!
