Great vacuum, picks up on first sweep, easy to use, not heavy, rolls nicely.

I bought this to replace a Dyson I had purchased in 2003. It still worked and I passed it onto a friend in need of a vacuum. Just an amazing piece of engineering. The ball makes this so easy to maneuver around objects and walls

Pros: cleans very well, can get to a lot of tight places where my prior dyson couldn't go. Cons: much heavier and harder to move than my old ball dyson for which I paid $100 less than this one.

We had a DC-17 animal for 10 years and when we replaced it we were worried about the cleaning capacity of the new ball model. It has been great and is a worthy replacement. Our older house has hardwoods, slate, brick pavers and rugs and it handles it all.

I'm not gonna lie - I wanted to LOVE this vacuum, but on the whole, I'm rather underwhelmed. I've always had canister vacuums and was happy with my previous Electrolux but with ever-increasing back issues, I thought a lightweight upright with great suction and great reviews was just the ticket. Putting it together was easy but I'm a little concerned about how flimsy certain parts feel. For instance, the little hinged plastic piece atop the hose assembly flips up when you pull out the hose assembly and down when the same is stowed and the floor roller is being used. I could easily see a part like that being snapped off without much force. However, the suction power is certainly not exaggerated. I love the ease of being able to just pop out the canister to dump contents and no bags/cleanable filter means no expensive consumables - win win! The hose assembly is another issue. When I need to use the hose to vacuum under furniture, or inside baseboard heaters, etc, it's just awkward positioning. Since the hose comes out of a 3 foot high feed tube, and can't be laid on it's side, it is difficult to use to vacuum under things. This could be because I'm used to a canister vac, which have the hose come out of a floor level height. I worry that the hose will quickly break or crack since I find I'm often stretching it or bending it at different angles for regular use. But 4 months in, so far, so good there. So far it's held up in regard to the concerns I mentioned, however, the floor cleaning roller already stopped having suction. The entire piece is cleaned and appears undamaged, rollers rotating..., just has no suction. Best Buy was no help but after a couple calls to Dyson, they are sending me out a new floor attachment to replace the non-working part. Hopefully this will fix the problem. Overall, I'm underwhelmed. I guess I was just expecting more. I'm worried about the flimsiness of certain parts and the hose starting from a position 3 feet high, is an issue. If I could go back, I'd do more looking before buying this one.

Does a good job but the pricepoint is high for what others do less expensively.

We have a Shark vacuum cleaner which does an adequate job but it really didn't have superior suction. We were delighted to see the Dyson offered as the deal of the day and took advantage of the reduced price tag. Before pulling the trigger, we watched some videos and were impressed that a women who owns a cleaning business used this Dyson for her own home. Our new Ball Animal Upright surpassed our expectations.

I’ve been through two vacuums before this one in less than a year. This one works wonders and it’s moves with such little force. It’s also picks up trash very well on both my wooden floors and carpets.

Amazing results from this vacuum. My house sees a lot of foot traffic from family, friends, dogs and cats. Vacuumed all the dirt, dust and pet hair away. It’s great.

I was skeptical at first if it was worth the money, but it definitely it. So smooth to control, rarely have to pass over same spot twice. Our dogs shed a LOT and this is the perfect vacuum - gets every single tiny hair off the floor and even the couch
