This brand vacuums are the best vacuums I have ever owned. I previously bought a smaller vacuum when I lived in a small apartment and upgraded to the Ball Animal and this vacuum is great. I can vacuum a floor once and fill the canister and not have to worry about dust, animal hair, or anything else being left behind. Dyson really is the last vacuum I will ever buy. Maintenance is easy with the washable filters and the vacuum easily changes from carpet to hardwood floors without doing anything. Just roll it onto the surface and it does the rest.

Works great and picks up all the dog hair. It has good suction and the attachments are easy to use.

Love my Dysons! Tools are easily chaned. Hose is always at your fingertips. Excellent suction and pick-up. Easy to clean and maintain filters.

Dyson has the best suction hands down. The cord is extra long. The head is wider then any shark.

Nice powerful and well designed machine. High quality materials and workmanship and appears it will last. Not the best for hard floors but terrific on carpet and large open areas. Hose barely reaches up a full flight of stairs.

This vacuum is great for hard surfaces such as wood, tile, and concrete from a suction power point of view, very strong suction. On plush or dense carpets it is very difficult to push and pull the vacuum across without a lot of effort. In fact my wife can barely move it across our Persian rugs and dense carpets. Area rugs and runners are another challenge due to the suction of the unit as it will pull in lighter ones or at least move them around the floor. Now the mechnics of the unit that need to be mentioned. When you are done with the unit you need to push the handle to the vertical position so it will lock in place. there is one loud click that you would think is the lock position but it is not, there has to be a second click that is much harder to hear that ensures the handle won't fall to the floor after you let go of it. The combination crevice and brush tool is a neat idea but it adds a level of frustration when trying to use the crevice tool for deeper narrow spots as the brush gets in the way then. I like the roller ball system and it seems to do well on most surfaces when you discount the suction issue on carpet. By the way, when you call in for service they are quick to address the suction issue by having you remove the gasket in the roller head, which helps slightly but not enough to ignore the issue at all. One other thing I feel I must mention about the service department is if you look at the reviews you see a lot of canned responses from the Dyson team that don't really apply to the problem listed. Overall I believe they have made some changes that increase performance metrics, such as suction power, but have not really improved the customer user experience with many of these changes. I cannot totally endorse the product due to these issues. I had the Dyson DC14 Animal and actually prefer how it operates to this new one, it is just showing its age now and we needed something with performance like the older unit had when it was new.

Pros: easy to assemble. Easy to operate. It picks up the dust and dirt my other vacuums failed to get! The only way I know is I have to work pretty hard to vacuum a thick carpet. But the extra work is good cardio. The clean is well worth it!!

this is the 4th dyson I have owned and by far the best. my area rugs have never looked so clean - like brand new! we have two kids and two dogs so vacuuming is an every other day activity but with they vacuum it’s not a problem! will be buying a second one for our vacation home

This Vacuum is in a league of it's own! If you want power, and a great combination of attachments this vacuum is for you. Always wanted one just couldn't get myself to drop the coin. Well, finally broke down and made the purchase. If you question this purchase like I did, go for it. This vacuum will not let you down

I am very happy with my Dyson Animal vacuum. It has great suction. I vacuumed after vacuuming with my old vacuum. I could not believe what has been left. It's a great vacuum for people with pets. Very satisfied with my purchase. Very easy to maneuver around furniture.

I'm in love with this vacuum! The suction is wonderful, and it is very versatile with its movement. It's not overly cumbersome and has a really long cord too. I don't think my floors or carpet have ever been this clean with owning two Maine Coon cats!

We have had an older Dyson for the last 8 years. When we brought home the Animal we couldn't believe the improvement compared to our old one. We have 2 Boxers and brand new carpet, this has been amazing.

I never spent more than a hundred bucks on a vacuum before. I thought, "How much different can they be?" Different enough. What I love most about this is how easy it is to take it apart. I ran over some yarn and had to get to the roller. Easy peasy. On my last vacuum, you had to take hidden screws out to access that, and those screws stripped after a while. The only thing I miss about my old one is a retractable cord. That would make this even better.

Great vacuum. Only had it for a week. I have a lot of carpet so I need a good reliable vacuum. My carpet is thick, I was worried it would be hard to push through the carpet. Goes through like butter. So far 100% satisfied !!

The vacuum works best on hard wood floors. The suction is powerful but too close to the ground even with the adjustments to raise it. It is too difficult to use on thick carpets or short/smaller carpets, it will get sucked up into the vacuum even with the roller turned off. The front is so low that crumbs or bird seeds will not get sucked up unless you lift up the front by tilting it. For the price, it should have better cable management, the attachments gets in the way of the cord. The accessories do work well. Overall, the vacuum does perform well but too expensive for the limited features compare to other brands. You’re paying for the quality of the motor, but not for the features.

Love this vacuum - we are always shocked at how much it picks up, it is so powerful! It’s also very easy to maneuver - would like to go cordless one day but the higher price point wasn’t worth it to us. This vacuum works great and is easy to empty! Love it!

great suction on the vacuum. It is a little heavy and hard to push. Wish there was a light on it also. But it does get the area cleaned really well.

We were excited to order the new dyson which was on sale. We needed to replace our other purple dyson vacuum. When we received it, the newer model was much bigger and heavier, too. We love that it works so well. We will definitely be building our muscles using this new version.
