Posted .Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to provide a review on the Ball Animal. Due to the great suction, vacuuming up rugs that are not fixed to the ground will cause them to lift into the cleaner head. While the vacuum does feature a self adjusting cleaner head, it may not self adjusting on all area rugs, depending on type.

Suction is too strong

The suction was so strong that it would literally latch onto the carpet. Couldn’t even move it. I called Dyson and they said that their newer models have incredible suction and there is nothing they can do. They recommended that I just return it. So I did. Worked great on bare floors though...

The Ball Animal features Dyson ball technology, which allows for easy navigation with the turn of a wrist. The cleaner head on this machine is self-adjusting, meaning that it raises and lowers to seal in suction across all floors. Ultimately, the machine being hard to push will likely be the result of suction forming an air tight seal between the cleaner head and the floor. Fabulous vacuum

I've been using a stick vacuum, which is fine for awhile, but this vacuum brought up dirt that I had no idea was in my area rugs. Also picked up edges on my tile floor. Extremely happy! Glad Best Buy had it on sale.

I don't like the way the hand attachments connect. The vacuum slips into use mode too easily when all you want to do is roll it somewhere.

Posted .Hello Ray, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're glad to hear that you've been pleased with the power suction power that the Dyson Ball Animal provides. It sounds like you might be experiencing an issue with the machine standing or locking upright while using the wand or hose?
There will generally be two clicks that you should get when putting the vacuum into the upright position. These clicks are not always noticeable unless put into the upright position at a slower speed. I would recommend putting the unit into the upright position at a slower pace in order to listen to the clicks that occur in order to troubleshoot the problem. One click will be the wheels of the vacuum going into place. The second click will be the wheels locking into place. It is important to ensure the second click occurs as without the second click, stabilizer wheels are not able to lock securely into place.

Great Vacuum

The assembly was straight forward and after unpacking it took me about 20 minutes before I started using the vacuum. I was very impressed with the vacuums performance.

It has strong suction and makes the carpets look great. The only downside I’ve had is it’s a pain to get the attachment hose back in after using it but maybe I just haven’t figured out the trick yet. If you can get this on sale it’s a great deal.
