When I called Dyson they said that unfortunately there is no adjustment that can be made for thicker carpets. There should be something that says that its only made for certain carpets. Very disappointed.....

Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you experienced an issue with your Ball Animal, and found it hard to push on your thicker carpeting. Dyson machines have higher levels of suction power - while this works for a majority of carpets, there are select fibers that may not be compatible. The air seal would be limited due to the suction power of the machine, from the result of the high suction and the self-adjusting feature. This one was a gift, but purchased because I loved mine so much. I have two dogs and it handles their shed fur no problem. This one went to a home with three dogs and it still powers through with no issues.

The suction on this Animal ball is far superior to my 10 year old Dyson upright that i needed to replace.
