I thought it would be ruined, but I dried out the collection chamber and turned the vacuum upside down to let the water drain out and dry the cleaner head. It still works great!

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to replace my Dyson DC 17, not because it quit working but just because it’s making too much noise. I really regret buying this vacuum, from the extension to the way you can’t even roll it around without it breaking off the back wheels it’s been a real disappointment. Unlike my DC 17 we can’t keep the brush extension on at all times otherwise it sticks up the foot past the handle. Pulling out the handle extension trying to get dust bunnies more half the time you can’t even get a good suction on it because of the way the hose pinches at the top. Trying to lock the vacuum into an upright position is a pain in the butt, also when it’s locked in the up right position you can’t even wheel it around on the back wheels without it breaking because the lock isnt that strong. Overall the actual vacuuming is OK, it’s not definitely not an improvement from my DC 17, and had I been given the opportunity to try it before hand I would definitely sent it back. I bought this on sale at $179 and still feel ripped off! Can I get a new DC 17?!

Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. I'm sorry to learn of all the issues that you are experiencing with your Dyson Ball Multi Floor upright. In regards to the hose, I can confirm that we would essentially expect the hose to become more flexible with time and use. A few tips we can provide would be attaching your accessories directly to your hose, as this will also help expedite stretching the elasticity of the hose. Dyson vacuums are engineered with versatility in mind and attachments may be used on either the wand or directly on the machine itself for added convenience. Also, when stretching the hose out we would recommend starting by stretching the part of the hose that is nearest to the vacuum first when extending this part to clean your home.
There will generally be two clicks that you should get when putting the vacuum into the upright position. These clicks are not always noticeable unless put into the upright position at a slower speed. I would recommend putting the unit into the upright position at a slower pace in order to listen to the clicks that occur in order to troubleshoot the problem. One click will be the wheels of the vacuum going into place. The second click will be the wheels locking into place. It is important to ensure the second click occurs as without the second click, stabilizer wheels are not able to lock securely into place.

It comes in about 3-4 pieces plus the attachments. It's a cool vacuum and you can wash and re-use the filters, just insure they are dry after each wash.

Heavy and difficult for elderly and people who may be not as strong as they used to be. Release bar pops off and is very difficult to reattach. Do not spend your money here.

Very heavy and uncomfortable to use, hard to maneuver, hose is stiff and difficult to use vacuum for edge cleaning and under furniture. Not a good choice for elderly person or small person. Totally wears me out trying to clean my house with this heavy and un easy to use machine. Do no recommend any one buy this vacuum when there are so many easy to use vacuum on market.

I decided I wanted another one because I loved my previous one so much. The quality just doesn't seem as good. It's not as sturdy a lot more of the pieces are cheap plastic, and I just hope it will make it even half the length my previous one did.

Scratches hardwood floors!!

Subpar on picking up dirt on hard surfaces. I noticed large deep scratches in my hardwood floors. If you have hardwood floors do your research-this is not the best product for this.. not I have to figure out what to do with the mess this vacuum left

Awful vacuum

When you use the wand to vacuum spider webs on the wall or where the main head can't reach the vacuum itself will be pulled against you. That's not nice. I would like to vacuum the car with it too but that wand makes it impossible. I can't vacuum underneath the bed because it's too big and it doesn't bent on itself. It's not easy to maneuver around furniture. It's not capable of vacuuming human hair because it gets stuck around the brush (where there are no bristles!!!). I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. I made a mistake buying it and I won't ever purchase this vacuum again.

As the most powerful upright we offer in terms of suction, it should be more than capable of hair and debris pickup when the washable filters and brushbar are maintained per the owner’s manual. You may be interested to know that Dyson offers compact upright and cordless models that offer a more lightweight and portable option for your household if a full-size Dyson Ball is not to your liking.
In regard to the usage of the wand and hose, if you are finding it difficult to use, it may prove useful to do a quick stretch the hose prior to commencing cleaning duties. This will allow optimal maneuverability without the hose coiling as a protection feature.

Huge Disappointment

First the vacuum is quite hard to put together and the directions are not clear. It is even harder to figure out how to use. We had to watch YouTube. The vacuum does not handle well on wood floors. It slides around all directions. The air blows out onto the ground on the side of the vacuum blowing dirt and dust everywhere. When using the tool attachment the hose is too short so you need to lift the vacuum up. It does not vacuum up larger particles. Don't waste your money.

Clunky, Awkward, and If Only It Sucked

It has never sucked up things as it should. The hose attachments have NEVER worked at all. I've tried for literally a year to work through the troubleshooting pages to no avail. This vacuum is clunky, awkward, so heavy, and so disappointing. It's scratched up all of my floors and truly been a waste of money and a lot of time/headache.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY

You can't even move it from place to place in the locked upright position. Like from closet to room to vaccum. You have to pick it up and carry it. Awkward. I hate getting it out to vaccum. My old one was so much better but it broke at the ball area. I'm so disappointed. I should have spent more on more $$$ model i guess. I should have returned it but i thought i could handle it. Every time i get it out I'm just mad.

This will avoid the need for pedals or stepping on the front of the machine as with our non-ball models. Rolling the unit around from room to room is recommended to be done with the ball instead of the stabilizer wheels on the back of the ball. You can then put the unit upright once you are done with cleaning and for storage.
It would also be unusual to hear that your new machine feels flimsy. Dyson machines are made from polycarbonate ABS which is the same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. Problems right out of box

Should have contacted Dyson right away or returned it. I put off calling b/c of long wait time and just wanted to get cleaning done. Today, I finally called, 20 people ahead of me. I gave # for them to call back, never heard from them. I'm back to using old machine. Should have returned it right away. I am stuck and out $200.00. BEWARE!!!

Worst Vacuum Ever, I must have gotten a dud

Well, not the case. This thing hasn't worked since I got it. I'm using a Bissell Powerforce that I got at Walmart for about $50. It works great. Never a problem. I don't know what to do. I don't have time nor am I willing to spend even a dime to send this somewhere. Never again Dyson!
