I bought this for my daughter and her husband to use in their new home. I too have a Dyson vacuum and so I highly recommend this you those of you out there that may (and really SHOULD) be reading this excellent, albeit brief, review. This thing flat sucks up dirt and pet hair. Mine does and my daughter says their Dyson does too! It's a vacuum and it vacuums like not other vacuum unless you're talking 'bout a Dyson vacuum! Buy one! It really is THAT good at doing what a vacuum should do, i.e., VACUUM! Trust me. My daugher, like her most excellent father (i.e., me) knows what she's doin' when she's reviewin'. Highly recommendamundo!

...Sucks in that it sucks up so much dirt, that it filled the entire canister on my first run through my home. I already had a Dyson that was about 11 years old and was really good, but had been showing it’s age a bit. This one is much lighter and the ball makes it quite easy to steer and navigate corners. Highly recommended!

We have a pretty even split of hardwoods and carpet. This vacuum is fantastic on both! We love that it doesn't take up a lot of space too. Also when the ball spins that vacuum piece twists which is great for getting multiple areas. The detachment also has great suction. So worth every penny!

I love this thing!!! It's perfect size and weight for my gf to use. She's happy with it, therefore the carpet is clean... Which in turn makes me happy!

this is by far the best vacuum that i have ever used. it has a very powerful motor that sucks up dirt that my old vacuum left in the carpet. it works on carpet, wood and tile surfaces equally well. my wood floors have never been cleaner and there is no need to mop after using the machine.

This really picks up everything! We had a Shark that was supposed to be designed for pet hair and extra strong. To give this a good test, we used our Shark first and went over the carpet 3 times until it no longer had anything at all in the cup. Then we used the Dyson. Almost half the cup was filled after the first run!

I just love my new Dyson! Not as heavy as the original Dyson. Easy maneuverability! Great suction and pickup on carpets and hardwood floors . Easy to switch from carpet to hard flooring! We have 2 dogs so more to vacuum- makes vacuuming fun- especially when you get such awesome results!

Have enjoyed Dyson vacuums for years. Purchased this new one and was amazed how much cleaner our carpets could be. Such power.

You hear about how Dyson vacuums have powerful suction and boy they aren’t lying. This is the best vacuum I have ever bought. I never used a vacuum that cleaned as well as this one. It’s also quite lightweight! It was easy to assemble and I love the long hose! I definitely would recommend this vacuum!

This vacuum is one of the best on the market. And with the sale they had recently online at the time I purchased it, it was almost half price, I couldn't resist. And it works like a dream. Our dog is a huge shedder, and it gets deep into the carpets as well as cleans the hardwood floors without blowing the hair around the room.

The best vacuum that we have ever owned. Real powerful suction. Handles curves and corners using the ball technology. It is very easy to push and the handle and extension wand can get to some very high places. It is worth it, people who own retail "pet hair" vacuums that we have shown our vacuum to are jealous.

Bought to replace my Hoover. Vacuumed with the hoover then the Dyson. Wow didn't realize all the dust the hoover was missing.

So far I'm very happy with this vacuum cleaner.. Very easy to use and extended hose and attachments are a big bonus for stairs, blinds,etc.

I've always been hesitant to spend on a vacuum. We needed a new one for the house and this one had a very good rating so I went for it. You can absolutely see and feel the difference. Handles great, light weight, and picks up everything. Extremely happy with purchase. It's a bit cumbersome to get out of the box, so just take your time.

Great sale on this model. I use it to clean our office. Carpet, tile, hardwood and throw rugs. I think this could suck start a Harley. Cheaper light weight rugs don't stand a chance against this. I pick up copper shavings from shop workers coming in the office. Does well getting the metal out of our rugs.

I was surprised on how much more dirt it sucks up, even after having vacuumed with my old vacuum. Way easier to maneuver.
