I can only explain my life as incredibly busy, hectic, balls-a-juggling (always). When I stop my spins to vacuum (I have 4 pets) I need it to be as efficient and effective as possible. I found the canister vacuum to be HARD to push the head over carpet (u need muscle), the relentless leaning over (for carpet + woods) is a bit much, and the ball follows you as u move w/ briskness, picking up small furniture (etc's) along the way... and so it slams against bigger furniture pieces (or just gets hung up on them). If you twirl around a table... you have to twirl the canister back around in the reverse direction (this is easier to do with an upright that is motorized like power steering). This model DOES have GREATtttttt SUCTION. I have 30% carpet (lushy wools), 70% hardwoods. If you have only hard flooring and big open spaces.... this is a great product to consider. If you live in a smaller urban efficient space with some lushy area rugs - I'd steer clear. I returned my canister and got Dyson's multipurpose upright (which replaced my older DC25 upright). It maneuvers fast, swift, NO PUSHING that requires my arm muscles, and I am a HUGEeeeee FAN of Dyson's "articulating head floor attachment." I could not live my life without it...

It rolls, and the arm and extension I feel are better than just the free standing models. The attachments are very handy, and even though it's fairly a larger vacuum it still doesn't feel bulky. Best vacuums ever!

Easy to move around and I really like they have the piece or adapter that allows you to use attachments from an older Dyson model . Save us buying some extra attachments

(I hate cords), not so good on area rugs because of good sucktion. a little cumberson, but easy to maneuver. I give it 41/2 stars

Not the same dyson product from 10 yrs ago

It’s been looking suction so I wanted another dyson model. It has great suction but the parts are cheap and not well made. Returned it as it didn’t do well on my hardwood floors. Just blew stuff around.

However, I am sorry to hear that it did not work well on your hardwood floors. This is very unusual to hear due to the great suction power it has. Also, please rest assured, Dyson machines are made from polycarbonate ABS which is the same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. We subject them to 50,000 hours of testing and 550 individual tests. All of this to ensure they can withstand a lifetime's hard use.
