However, this particular model's performance was disappointing. Has suction problems when used on area rugs not matter the thickness. You will have to restart the vacuum constantly. This model is not worth the price.

Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're so sorry to hear that you found the overall performance of your Cinetic Big Ball Animal + Allergy to be a disappointment. As with our other upright models, the cleaner head is self adjusting, so it will automatically raise and lower to seal in suction across all floors. Sometimes issues can arise, where the brush bar will stop spinning, if the brush bar senses your carpeting fibers as an obstruction. This shuts off the brush bar motor, to prevent the motor from overheating. Another issue that can arise, is that the machine will feel hard to push. Thus is due to the machine's suction forming an air tight seal between the cleaner head and the floor. It's usually more common on thicker, more plush carpeting, carpets with thicker padding underneath or even area rugs. Dyson machines have higher levels of suction power - while this works for a majority of carpets, there are select fibers that may not be compatible. The air seal would be limited due to the suction power of the machine, from the result of the high suction and the self-adjusting feature.

I have followed all the directions on line there are no blockages. It Sucks that it just wont suck. I am disappointed because my previous Dyson last 12 years of tough use.
