Does not work on plush carpets!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just bought the vacuum and was excited to try it out on our new carpets (we just got brand new normal length plush carpets throughout the house). The carpet had “too much” suction and was very hard to push forward. After a short pass the brush head stopped spinning. I called Dyson support and they said I have a “compatibility issue” and the vacuum doesn’t perform well on plush carpets. Only options I was given was to send it in for service where they would reduce the suction or just return it. They recommended a cordless (which has less suction) or a canister type (which you can control the amount of suction). Needless to say I am very disappointed in Dyson. Returning the vacuum and going with another brand.

We're sorry to learn that with the more plush pile, you experienced an issue with pushing your machine. Some machines, not just Dysons, may not be compatible with your plush or shag carpeting. In this case you would need to consult with your carpet maker to find out what machines would work best with their flooring. Most carpet makers will have advice on what machines are most compatible with your flooring. You can also try vacuuming with the brush bar turned off, so you're vacuuming with just the suction of the machine.
