If you pay this much for a vacuum, you would expect it the work flawlessly! When switching from the carpet bristle to smooth surface “setting”, sometimes the suction does the work. Ball feels hot to touch and outside of ball attracts and becomes covered with a layer of dust. Save your money and buy a different brand

Don't bother
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I usually buy Sharks. We ventured out and bought the Dyson Cinetic Animal and allergy. It's not a sealed system. After vacuuming for a while, I noticed dust and sediment on the ball. I cleaned it off and the canister. Tried again, dust and sediment on the ball which is the exterior body. The latch to close the canister is designed poorly. There is a side opening in the canister that butts up to the intake, it to is not fully sealed when the canister is in place. Returning it today and getting another Shark.

Too big and heavy for a 'senior' like myself.

Great vacuum initially, but having problems

Best vacuum for allergy sufferers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Albeit pricy as heck for a vacuum it really does everything it boasts very well. There is no dust of any sort kicked up or ejected by this vacuum, it was the first time cleaning where i did not go into a sneezing fit. It's very easy to push and control, not to mention going from one surface to another is seamless. The suction is by far the best in a vacuum I've ever owned. I vacuumed the same floor with it immediately after i did so with my old Hoover pet vac, I had to empty the bin to finish because it sucked up that much more dirt. I would recommend to anyone willing to shell the cash out...simply amazing. Oh and not to mention the wand reaches EVERYWHERE it's so long and it comes with an army of tools that the other models do not, the cost of buying the tools separately would make another model just as pricy.

I have 4 cats and one dog. When it is working I have to empty quite often since I do have a zoo in my house!

This is our most advanced upright and also features a wealth of useful attachments out of the box. Not only this, but it's the only upright that requires absolutely no filter maintenance.
It is unusual to hear that your machine is clogging frequently. All Dyson machines are designed with households with pets in mind. Of course, more animals in the house will naturally result in more material to pick up and more frequent bin emptying.

Doesn't go through very thick carpet

Our Dyson Cinetic Big Ball upright vacuum features ball technology, with a central steering mechanism, for greater control and no awkward moves. They are also out first machines to feature no filters to wash or replace, thanks to the oscillating Dyson Cinetic tips located in the cyclone pack. The Dyson Cinetic is a heavier machine; one thing that you may notice, however, is the brush bar of your machine may help to move the machine along the carpet due to the natural rotation of the brush bar.

Major design flaw

The only option given to me when I called customer service is to remove the baseplate when I vacuum rugs or carpet. I refuse to have to take my new, very expensive vacuum apart and reassemble everytime I change surfaces. Major design flaw, Dyson!! Have used a Dyson for 15+ yrs, but guess it's time to make the switch to Miele.

Dyson Cinetic machines are our first machines to feature no filters to wash or replace, thanks to the oscillating Dyson Cinetic tips located in the cyclone pack. Your machine also features an active baseplate, which automatically raises and lowers to seal in suction across all flooring surfaces. If you are finding your machine hard to push on carpeting, it may be that the carpeting is thicker or more plush, which is causing the cleaner head to form a tight seal, and not allowing for sufficient airflow between the baseplate and your floors. We would not recommend the regular removal of any item from your machine, as this can cause screws to become stripped over time, and also affect the warranty of your unit.
Some machines, not just Dysons, may not be compatible with your plush or shag carpeting. In this case you would need to consult with your carpet maker to find out what machines would work best with their flooring. Most carpet makers will have advice on what machines are most compatible with your flooring. While we don't expect issues to occur, Dyson does back your new machine from an authorized retailer with a free 5-year guarantee. Manufacturing error; hard to push

Took it to a vacuum repair place as I had read online that it could be a misalignment of a component inside and they said they were unable to fix it bc it was a manufacturing error of the wrong screws used. Hoping that the return process goes smoothly.
