It works fine on our hard floors and area rugs, but the roller bar stops spinning on our carpets and the vacuum cannot be pushed at all. Defeats the purpose of the vacuum.

I spend more time unclogging this vacuum, then I do actually vacuuming. I wish I had returned it when I first purchased it. Now I am stuck with an expensive piece of junk.

It is very unusual to hear that your machine is clogging regularly in your everyday use. That being said, frequent obstructions in your machine may occur as a result of poor airflow, which can happen due to an existing obstruction. This blockage of airflow can also result with a loss of suction. I am happy to let you know that most blockages are simple to remove and we find that most problems may be resolved through simple, yet effective troubleshooting at home.

Its really the best vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After 15 years my old Dyson DC07 (the original upright the yellow one) started overheating when i would vac both the downstairs and upstairs, i decided it was time to replace it. I did some research and knew it would be a dyson. Not many vacuums last over 15 years! This vac is awesome! I have a small dog and this thing picks up everything my little guy brings in with him. I decided on this model vs the Cenetic Animal because #1 it was on sale and comes with more attachments. The Animal was more money as it was NOT on sale. I do feel that they are expensive but you get what you pay for. If this vac lasts me 15 years like my 1st one I will be very happy. So many of my friends ask why I spent so much on a vacuum and I ask them how many vacuums they have purchased in the past 15 years and they say 2 or 3 and i ask how much they spent and most say a couple of hundred of dollars...well I had only purchased 1 and back then it was only $400. I then ask why they replaced them and some said that they no longer were picking up things or just died. My DC07 still picks up without any problems and it still run it just overheats and that just might mean it needs its filters cleaned out. Oh and this new Dyson has NO filters to clean! So far very happy with this vacuum.

Love at first sight

They are not on display at the store near my house, but they are there and ready for sale. I did a lot of research on this product and even though I have only had it for two days, I LOVE IT!! It grabbed everything and the attachments are great. The tool I used to get dog hair off my couch picked up so much dust that I'm almost embarrassed to mention it. It did great. This vacuum makes me want to clean my house everyday!! My house already smells fresher! #Love

We vacuum multiple times a week with an older vacuum, big mistake. This thing is very pricey, but you get a 5 year warranty with it-----don't view it as an expense, view it as a home improvement investment. Not to mention, if you have allergies you won't find a better vacuum to help alleviate those symptoms.

Carpet is only 3 years and it is not shag carpet. But in high track area the brush roll won’t spin. Never had issue with previous dyson or other vacuums.

Our Dyson Cinetic Big Ball vacuum features ball technology, with a central steering mechanism, for greater control and no awkward moves. They are also out first machines to feature no filters to wash or replace, thanks to the oscillating Dyson Cinetic tips located in the cyclone pack.
The Dyson Cinetic is a heavier machine; one thing that you may notice, however, is the brush bar of your machine may help to move the machine along the carpet due to the natural rotation of the brush bar. Ultimately, the machine being hard to push will likely be the result of suction forming an air tight seal between the cleaner head and the floor.

We had made due for the first eight months with an old pesky little handy vac. We could spend hours vacuuming but our floors (carpet and tile) never really felt clean. We decided that we needed to make a change. We did our share of research and everything kept pointing to Dyson. At first I was skeptical about spending this much money on a vacuum cleaner. It seemed like such a large amount of money for an item that was just going to be cleaning my floor every week. I quickly realized once I got the Cinetic home how wrong my doubts were. It was amazing how much cleaner our house felt after just one pass through over our floors. The amount of missed dirt and dust was amazing to me that this device was able to retrieve from the carpet that had been resting hidden from our old vacuum. The Cinetic also came with so many different attachments that I could not believe there were that many uses for a vacuum cleaner. I immediately fell in love with the different dusting attachments. There was also an great bi-product that came from purchasing this vacuum. I was amazed with how much time I started saving every week when I got the Cinetic. Vacuuming went from a multi-hour chore to about a thirty minute to an hour event that I look forward too doing every week.

The Cinetic models have less suction power due to the new technology it uses and has a whole HEPA filtration system that does not need to be continuously maintained as our other models require. So it is more efficient as the cyclone tips oscillate at up to 5,000 Hz, separating the microscopic dust that clogs all other vacuums. Therefore, more dust/dirt ends up in the bin eliminating the need for a filter.

Didn't think it was very noisy. Not happy with the dust collector or its size as I still have to stick my hand in to pull out dust/hair. Price way too high and machine doesn't stand upright. For $699, This machine should be perfectly engineered.
I would recommend this to a friend Quality sucks for the overpriced purchase price.

burning smell brand new

It's not about money, it's about performance, never looses suction ever. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats that sheds hair like crazy, this vacuum does every thing that I wanted...I would recommend to every body..Amazing, I love it.

The Cinetic Big Ball machine is designed with ABS plastic, the same material in police riot shields, and go through a rigorous testing phase to ensure it can endure more than the average bump and drop.
The Cinetic Big Ball machine is designed to provide strong, fade-free suction. To keep the machine in optimal performing condition, routine maintenance is required. This maintenance is outlined in the user manual.
